How to Create a Matte Wall Paint Material in Arnold From Maps Exported From Substance Designer?

Hello,

 

Thanks in advance for any help on this matter.

Currently I have a library of exported SD Matte Paint maps, and I want to use them to create an Arnold new AI Material Library directly not using the substance map 2.  Does anyone know the best settings using the above maps going into the Arnold Standard Surface in the new AI  Image maps with any connected Layer RGBA or Color Correction Maps.  The maps I have are from the metallic/rough workflow: Base, Height, Metallic, Normal, Roughness.   Please note that I did look at a Substance to Arnold Conversion and this is not helping much because there are different categories for inputs.

 

 

Please see attached Arnold AI Template that I am using.

 

Please advise on best settings for the maps and the Arnold Standard Surface Material with new AI image maps.

Thanks for your message.

 

Unfortunately, I am not an Arnold expert, therefore I am not sure you will find what you're looking for in this thread. It seems like Arnold works perfectly with metallic/roughness bitmaps, so I don't think you'll even have to open Substance 3D Designer as long as you already have all the textures.

 

With that being said, if someone knows a bit about shading with Arnold, please let us know.

Hi Cyril,

 

Thank you for your response.  I ended up downloading newer substance from the source and the conversion to Arnold textures had the newer image maps.  I transferred as well as I could similar settings and the matte paint

rendered material is very close to Adobe's version. 

 

There should be a graphical reference here for all renderer's maps and recommended plugin settings

for Adobe 3d collection exported maps.  This would take the Guess work out of the picture and help move things along.  The graphic parameters should be for all basic materials.
