How to flood fill overlapping tiles?

I typically use directional noise+"floodfill-to-grey" to achieve the details per tile but it seems impossible with overlapping tiles. Curious if there's a workaround.

Hello @JigglyW,

It is indeed challenging to separate tiles by their visible areas after Max blending.

If the shape of the tiles allow, you may use the curvature to separate the overlapping tiles, run the result through a Flood fill node, then bridge back the gaps using a Distance node.

I have attached an example of this solution. I hope it is helpful!

Best regards.
