Looking for Kyle's brushes, but all Starter Assets are missing

Community Beginner ,

Hello,

I need a few of Kyle's brushes for a project I'm working on, but they are nowhere to be found in my Substance Painter.

The Starter Assets in my Assets panel is completely empty (yes, even after clicking on Clear Search)

and navigating to the brushes folder under documents shows that it is empty too.

No search either in Painter (kyle) or Windows (*kyle*) propts any results.

I just installed the 2024 Steam version and thought the Starter Assets would come back, but nope!

Is there any way to make them appear? Or a place to download them from?

Or am I not looking in the right place?

Mostly I'm interested in Kyle's Brushes, if there's any place I can download them from, I'd love to know as I've been googling for an hour with no results.

Thanks

My bad, the location is different for Steam's users :
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Substance 3D Painter 2024\resources\starter_assets

Do you have the folder in there?

Hello @Aeon Soul,

Considering the messages we got on this regard, This could be a bug with Steam's 2024 editions. We're currently investigating, and I'll keep you updated on the matter.

In the meantime, here's a link to kyle's brushes.

Just so you know, the shared image isn't the location of the starter asset. The Starter assets should be located in
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Substance 3D Painter\resources\starter_assets

Can you tell me whether the folder is in there or not? If not, verifying the application files should rebuild it.
RMB on the App > Properties > Installed files > Verify Integrity of software files

Lastely, just to be sure we're not missing anything, the Starter assets is always the last library to be loaded. Therefore, it can take a bit of time before seeing the assets.

Hi,

I do not have a Adobe Substance 3D folder in C:/Program Files/Adobe, only a photoshop and creative cloud folders.

I'll verify the App and post an update!

Ah, thanks I found them and yes, everything seems to be there, but for some reasons does not show in Sub Painter.

In my case, it's a non-issues as I prefer to use my own libraries, but at least now I can copy the content I need!

I did the App verification and it gave me this message: 18 files failed to validate and will be reacquired,

however I still do not have a Substance Painter 3D folder under Program Files/Adobe, nor any new file showed up in the library. I waited quite a while for all the assets and libraries to load.

Just so you know, another user faced the same issue and deleting the preferences and appdata worked for him. It's worth the try.

I checked the link, but when it comes to the registry I found no entry that looked like preferences.

All I have is: Default (maybe this is it?), LastViewersLayout, licensessvc and mesh_exporter_default_dir and mesh_exporter_default_filter

I don't feel like deleting at random.

As for the App Data, that folder only includes two empty folders, so not much to do, I deleted them, but do not hope that's going to make any difference.

I'll just move the stuff I need to my own libraries, as long as I have access to the files, I'm ok.
