transfer UVs from SP file to low poly uv for game asset

really like this program however, it seems like there should be an easier way for me to paint away in SP and then quickly bake what i painted onto a low ploy game asset.  same model except the in game has uv's on one texture map instead of multple UDIM's.  my curent workflow is to is to export SP mesh and textures to 3ds max, re-set up the materials.. light scene..  texture bake to low poly game asset.  i want a way to do this in substance to be more efficient and take advantage of rendering power within SP.  thanks.

Hello @CASBUR74,

I am sorry, but am still not sure to understand you perfectly. You seem to have two similar models, but with different UVs, am I right ? Therefore, why painting on the multiple UDIM object if you're gonna use the one UV set object ? I'd advise you to paint directly on your game asset.

Also, if your two meshes are strictly the same (except for the UVs), inside your Substance 3D Painter project, you can reimport your mesh with different UVs and the painting won't be altered.

With that being said, I know I am still missing something in your workflow, so feel free to help me with that.

Have a nice day.

Hi Casey,

Thanks for the question.

I am not sure to get you well. Why aren't you using directly your Low Poly game asset with one UV set in Substance 3D Painter ?

The most common workflow is to model one Low Poly (with UV) and one High Poly, import the Low Poly inside Substance 3D Painter, bake your HP on your LP, make the textures and simply apply them on your Low Poly in your rendering software.

You can perfectly paint on an asset with one UV set and you do not need to export the mesh from Substance Painter.

Tell me if you need more help and have a nice day.

thanks for the reply.. i think you misunderstood.  that is the workflow i am implying.  my question is that once i get my SP model all painted i want to then bake those textures back onto another set of uvs that my game asset would then use.  since my SP model has 4-5 UDIMS, i need to bake that back onto one texture sheet that my game asset requires.  instead of using another rendering software, i would like to do that straight from painter.
