Hi im new to this side of 3d.

When I try to use the plug in "substance 3d for unreal engine" in UE5.3.1 and 5.2.1  to import a sbsar file it shows this error and does not show up in the folder:

Screenshot 2023-10-04 224232.png

And when I try to import the same file a second time in a row I get an overwrite warning for the file like it was allready imported:

If I click Yes, the file appears in the folder, but I cant use it, and sometimes UE crashes.

Here are some logs:

Im going to try on UE4 next

It seems the issue is with the sbsar file because I am able to use other substance3d comunity materials with the plugin in unreal. This is strange because my sbsar file works in substance painter?

Just bumping to say I`m having the same issue. Made a material following a 1 year old guide, no parameters expoded, getting the same "failed to create asset" message when attempting to import the material to Unreal Engine. I tried setting the Compatability Display to v8 to try to find any incompatable nodes as mentioned in this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AxG1loUR7B8 ), but I could not find any. Any help appreciated!

Adding on that I'm having the same issue. Community asset sbsar files I can import no problem - my own created materials, however, I can't. Please @Adobe find a solution!

Hi, could you please use the latest plugin version 5.3.2 and let us know if you're still encountering this issue? You can download the plugin from here: https://www.unrealengine.com/marketplace/en-US/product/substance-plugin?sessionInvalidated=true

Same thing here. I tried uploading a material recently created, not a heavy one, and it popped up the error message. I tried it with a material from the store and works fine. I have installed the latest version of Substance 3D for Unreal.

Hi @CarlosC183 , when this error happens what does your output log say? Does it print the same message as above or is it different?
