Substance Sampler 2023 won't launch on Steam

I just bought Sampler 2023 on Steam and it won't launch at all, I click it to run, it says "running" and then stops. Sampler 2022 used to work just fine. I've tried everything to run it and nothing happens. What should I do?

Hi @JSZeh,

Substance Sampler is indeed not available anymore on Steam's platform. You'll have to get a 3D texturing license from the Creative Cloud.

UPDATE: I refunded Adobe Sampler and bought Designer on Steam, now I won't be able to buy sampler again, I'm stuck with sampler 2022 forever 😞

Hi @Wolferey, Hello @JSZeh,

This was indeed a bug with 4.2.2. We are currently looking for a fix that will come for the next realease.

In the meantime, I advise you to rollback for the previous version.

Having the same problem. I just bought it on Steam and the application crashes before it even creates aything in appdata, but what I found is it dumps the crashes in AppData/Local/CrashDumps, using WinDbg all the crash files gives the same expection error where it tries to read a null-pointer for vulkan. Hello @JSZeh,

This is potentially a bug we're currently investing in related to our latest update. Can you try to delete the files located in

~/AppData/Roaming/Allegorithmic/ Adobe Substance 3D Sampler

This should clean the data and could help launching the application properly.
