Unable to Import Some .sbsar Materials V4.4.1 - Windows 10

Hi,

I have found that some materials from the Substance 3D Assets site which I was able to import in previous versions of Sampler are now failing to import using all of the following methods...

1. Drag the sbsar from Windows explore into the 3D view

2. Drag the sbsar from Windows explore onto the layers panel

3. Drag the sbsar from Windows explore into AssetsYour assets panel

4. Add the material using the + button in the assets panel.

No errors appear on screen, pc does not freeze or hang. Its like trying to add the material is just ignored.

As mentioned, this is the case with some materials, not all.  For example, Chipped Off Paint Steel
DOES work...

Burnt Metal does NOT work...

Can you please tell me why this is now the case and if I am able to fix the issue at my end.

Thanks.

Hi Marion,

I ended up renaming the Sampler folder so that on next launch it would force a rebuild - C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Substance 3D Sampler.

Looks like this has worked for me. I started Sampler again and can now import the Burnt Metal material I used previously as a test.
Something which I did notice...

As stated previously I tried several methods to import the Burnt Metal material, including adding it to the Your Assets panel, but the material did not appear in the panel.

However, the asset did appear in C:/Users/Username/Documents/Adobe/Adobe Substance 3D Sampler/yourAssets/

Launching Sampler again resulted in the Burnt Metal asset now appearing and working as it should.

I do have a log file if you would like to see, which I can email if you give me an address.

Thanks

Hi Leigh,

I am unable to reproduce the problem, would you be able to share your logs so we can look into why that happens to you?
