Sampler 5.0 released!

Sampler 5.0 is now live!

 

This version introduces easier ways to digitize materials with higher quality scans and renderings.

 

Highlights of the release:

  • New advanced rasterizer and pathtracer bringing new rendering capabilites and visual consistency across Substance ecosystem. It also brings consistency with Substance 3D Viewer.
  • A one-click shortcut to all your most frequent tasks, already set up for you!
    Start creating in seconds, discover new capabilities and gain time with your repetitive tasks with Quick Actions
  • New homepage. Create assets directly from the homepage and learn what Sampler can help you create

 

Warning: Please note that some version of Nvidia drivers (572.42 for GeForce and 572.16 for RTX pro) make Sampler crash at launch. It ou have that version of the driver, please go back one version earlier or update to a more recent one if available.

My RTX 4060 driver updates today to 572.42 released on Feb 13. This is latest version and it still crashes. Hope this will be fixed soon:)

On the 572.60 released today on the 27th of Feb it looks like things are back to normal, please let us know if that is not the case!

I can't even seem to get Sampler to launch. New laptop, plenty of space, Intel Iris Xe Graphics Driver (ver 32.0.101.6078). 

I just want to even RUN the program! I click "Open" and NOTHING happens. nada.

Can you please take a look at the minimum requirements to see if you meet them. You need a dedicated GPU to run Sampler smoothly.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti

 

(sorry not good with the technical aspect of things).

 

I do know that the Cloud Desktop won't let me run it without updating the program and it's been stuck at 94% for a week now.

 

Even working slow I'd be happy to have it work at all.

Hi Renae,

You might not be using the correct GPU when running Sampler.
You can check doing this https://helpx.adobe.com/substance-3d-sampler/technical-support/configuration/nvidia-driver-settings....

just update driver to 572.70 NVIDIA new Game driver. Sampler works without any issues.

Tried updating the driver. Maybe it's the idiot behind the wheel here because I used to have the Material "Balls" I Could play with in the main screen and now I just get a black gridded Screen.  

 

Can I run an older version of Sampler instead?

Yes, from CCD you can choose to install a previous version.
Can you share your log file with us (Help menu> Export Log)? We are investigating on the black screen.
