Hi. I am an experienced amatuer photographer, currently using a NIKON D7100.

I would say that your photo is grossly underexposed (dark). Try setting your ISO to automatic,

or perhaps just using the fully automatic mode without flash.

Good luck.

It kind of has this night floral calendar look.

I would not worry about people be negative about the first image.  It looks nice to me.

Artistic.... moody... bruding... coolness.

1 - watch tutorial video(s) on how to use your camera

2 - are you using an Adobe program to edit your pictures?

In all the above photos there is no processing, thanks to the people who hinted at my shortcomings, I will try to fix them. To make my photos even more interesting for me. Thanks everyone. And in particular, specifically for you

[Moderator moved from Stock Contributors to The Lounge.]

Take some structured photography classes to learn a) how to use your camera, b) good photographic technique (lighting, depth-of-field, composition, exposure, etc...) and c) post-production editing in apps like Photoshop and Lightroom.

Good luck & have fun with your new hobby.  🙂

I personally like the floral pics.  Sure the lighting is not bright and sunny... but honestly it does not have to be.  If everyone went for this bright sunny look then life would be boring.

I kind of like the dark look as it is unique.  Maybe seeing beauty in nature in the evening or early morning.  If you had several pics of this type you could create a calendar or a book.  You would find people who would love it.

To put this in context, these pics were originally posted in Adobe Stock Contributors.  If you've never visited that space, you're probably not familiar with Stock's submission criteria which includes -- among other things  -- proper lighting.

That said, I agree that when executed properly, dark images can be very dramatic. This canvas by Dutch oil painter Johannes Vermeer (1665) is a great example.

The image has a certain artistic quality (by which I mean more like a painting than a photo), but is poorly focused, under-exposed and quite noisy. Definitely wouldn't be accepted to Adobe Stock.

I doubt that I want to deal with stock, I came here to listen to the opinion of more ordinary people. What would you advise to remove the named drawbacks?
I apologize for low literacy, I recently started learning English

But this is the lounge. I thought this was sort of the one exception to "talking exclusively about Adobe" community. In the "Welcome to the Lounge" featured post from Tricia, she actually suggests asking questions like this (see screenshot). I thought it was nice that Poma asked for feedback.
