Only got it in yesterday, that speed is wired to the PC from the router, wireless is a bit slower, average for wireless 100/98 to 250/140 sometimes higher.
Just done a test downloading a 6GB file, started it and went to get some water from the fridge came back and there is was fully downloaded, I think it took about a minute and a half.

It was the same price as my previous provider and I was only getting 38/9 with them

Blooming Heck that's fast!!! Are you in Éire or the North? I'm guessing you are south of the border, and enjoying some Common Market infrastructure, and that the North is barely above dial-up speeds. 
Out of interest, where do you see the real benefits of that sort of bandwidth? I mean what can saturate it? Half a dozen 4K video streams?
We sort of consider ourselves lucky with this as it is so much better than what we used to get. This is actually as low as I have seen it in a while, but best ever would be 49/12.
This is with VDSL+ so copper from the box, which is the small red circle. We are the larger red circle, but the telephone goes down the other side of our close, and back on our side, so essentially doubling the distance to the cabinet. Nowadays that doesn't make much difference to be honest. What rankles is the fibre goes right past our garden (to the school at the end of the road) but they won't connect us to it.

Fast 'up' is critical for me, working from home. *critical*
Cable internet here is faster/cheaper down, but the upload is terrible.
I keep getting promo offers to increase speeds to 100/100 but, really, I don't need it.
The current connection is more than adequate (so far) for a 5 person family with many, many devices all often streaming from various sites.
You guys are really lucky, I'm living in the country side (less than 50 miles from London) and my connection is awful. i don't even know when they will upgrade our internet cabinet!
Mine isn't too bad ... could use more upload speed but it gets the job done.

Rodney, that is dire, and you don't appear to be out in the sticks. What gives?
This article suggests that US Internet speeds are not flash all things considered, but it is a big, spread out country. You still appear to rated about tenth. New Zealand is way down in 30th place, so I am just glad mine is as good as it is considering how far from town we are.
I does seem more and more likely that large area WiFi is the future for out of town Internet, although it is ever so slightly scary to think of the signal strength required to give it any sort of range. The receiving properties would have directional dishes of course, but the towers would have to be omni, or a big segment of omni.
This shows the lower part of the Marlborough Sounds. It takes three hours to drive from Picton (where the ferries leave for Wellington in the North Island) despite the distance as the crow flies not being particularly great — the feint grid is 10 kilometres — to the northern shores of Kenepuru Sound (outlined in red). The several hundred people who lived around the Kenepuru had barely any internet until they clubbed together, and had a wireless repeater put on a high peak on the range between Kenepuru and Queen Charlotte Sound. The main dish is in Picton.
The result is surprisingly decent Internet. We stay in a lodge on the North Shore a couple of years ago, and I was surprised at how well it worked.
I can't resist a wee tangent here, but our trip to the Kenepuru was one of the most scary experiences of my life. My wife treated us to a seaplane flight to get there. It took off from Picton, and hugged the mountainside to get lift, but I was sat next to the pilot and could see bugger all out of the front, and felt I could reach out and touch the mountainside on our right. I was sure we were going to crash into a ridge at any moment.
The seaplane does not operate anymore after he sank it in Pelorus Sound after flipping it landing on choppy water. Not that I was ever going to get back in it!!!
Incidentally, the lodge now uses a picture I took during our stay there, in their main advertising blurb. The banner came from a shot my wife took on a G10; the lights on the path are fake, and the windows from another shot.
