The new forum needs a little bit of humor to release the tension of the changeover, so I've started part 2 of the old thread so that we don't have to keep scrollong to the end of the old thread.

If it gets too long before the "go to the latest reply" issue is resolved, I can lock this thread and link to a part 3 thread.

Adding a bit of humor to the new forum is always a good idea to help ease the tension of changeover. Starting a part 2 of the old thread is a great way to keep the conversation going without having to scroll endlessly. And if the thread gets too long before the "go to the latest reply" issue is resolved, creating a part 3 thread and linking to it sounds like a good solution. Keep up the positive attitude!

But of course a persons own side is always right. Sorry mate, it does not
work that way. Here is the UK we between a rock and a hard place, both main
parties are totally useless. I am changing to Independent, who that may be
depends on nominees.

And Republicans/Democrats did what to change gun laws? Nothing. Because
they know the gun lobby will vote the other way.

In French the gender of computers is already determined, it's masculine:

"un ordinateur".

But a computer is also "une machine" (feminine).

So if we can't choose the gender, we can choose the word.
