The article helpfully identifies the location as French Street and 17th in Santa Ana, so Google maps gives us a clearer idea of what happened.  The amazing thing is that the vehicle came out of 17th apparently not realizing it was a T-Junction, judging by the speed it was doing.

On a more positive note, the cops that came to investigate will have been able to have a quick snack while they worked.

That's one aspect of design I rarely think about. How do they test for that? Do they get a van and look at it when the doors are open?

I watched a presentation at MAX where the presenter talked of "purposeful design" ... where you were designing something like these delivery vehicles wrapping, where they were pointing out that having an ability to create 'moving' samples of  the design in at least 2d is so useful.

Because ... of this type of thing.

One can do things to make it less naturally moving between parts of words or words, by say, changing the font on a word so it is obvious that something is missing with the wrong over-lap.
