Yes, Barb, that's all true and fine (in terms it's possible to make use of them), however, I still think InDesign's Table Styles are pretty unfriendly to user. In the days CS (ID 3.0) was young I had the opportunity to use Woodwing Smart Styles. Excellent plugin, especially useful for tables. Pricey, though... Native ID Table Styles still come nowhere near.

I strongly doubt ID 'decides' itself to correct your writing. It must be active Autocorrect, or maybe you accidentally turn on Title Case (may it have some custom kb shortcut assigned? May it be Style settings?). It's hard to tell without seeing actual doc on actual machine. Basically, I prefer text editors (like Word) for entering and spelling bigger amounts of text, and keep ID's Autocorrect OFF. InDesign is for design. Edit: additionally, you can check Spelling tab in Preferences. Word capitalization is involved there, too...

You're welcome Adobe is aware of the issue and is working on it (so they say ). It concerns Mac users only. At the moment the above workaround is most acceptable solution.

Your best bet is to find proper glyph in your font and use it, instead of simulating it via superscript. Try Alt+0174 (registered sign) and Alt+0153 (trademark sign), if you're on Windows, or find it in Glyphs palette.

2 most likely reasons. 1. Font not installed for source doc. Do you have Document fonts folder in the same folder as your source file? If yes, is destination file saved here, too, or in some other place? That said, you may have font installed in Document fonts folder, but not on system or application level. This is what GeorgeS tried to say you. 2. Styles conflict. Is there any style applied to the text you try to copy (including [Basic Paragraph]? If there are styles with identical names in a destination doc, settings from them will be applied to the copied text. And those settings may be different...

that's good after sorting swatches, right? I think, there's even simpler technique: 1. first select the swatch you want to keep. 2. then select all 'duplicates' to be removed (replaced by the '1st' swatch). You can select using Shift or Ctrl, selection works just like in Windows Explorer. 3. in right-click menu select 'Merge Swatches'. no additional dialogs, quick'n'easy! takes way longer to describe than to do

While you didn't upgrade... AFAIK, there's no fully 'automagic' way to merge swatches with identical values, however, there is a nice script of scripting guru Marc Autret to sort them - much easier to catch and merge duplicates then. Take a look here. The thread is pretty long to read, you can just copy code from the 'Correct Answer'...

In general, master text frames are not very useful and thus rarely used. As far as I can see your layout, You have to stay with the majority (you didn't need it). btw, switched to CC2017 in the meantime, just to see the differences, and didn't find much: Layout Adjustment is still in the Margins and Columns dialog... However, it seems like You sorted it out, and that's fine.
