I can't get opposing run-ins to nest. I can get the lower/left AF to nest if set to "At Insert Point", with a generous negative Distance Above Baseline, but that only works for the first line of the second para. I can conjecture hacks using borderless Tables, Side Heads or run-around placement on custom Master Page that might work around it, but use frequency, AF sizes and publication workflow would have a lot to say about those (some won't flow to HTML). ... If both are anchored to the first para, it works. In your example, the right AF is anchored to the 2nd para, which is causing the para to start below the initial AF. Without knowing more about the layout objectives, I have no instant conjectures on other approaches. ... View more

re: Times New Roman What foundry, vintage & font file format? If it's old, such as a pre-Unicode TTF, try a newer instance. If it's the latest OTF, perhaps try some other instances of Times or Times Roman. This may or may not be your fix, but would be helpful in isolating the problem to FM vs. the font. Structured or unstruc? Struc might provide more attribute control.   What image file format? "Some of the images…" suggests some sensitivity to file type. If SVG works, you can wrap any other format in SVG pretty easily. I'm using that hack to work around a non-FM image format limitation on another site. How is size specified in FM? I don't know if Rick's video covers this, but the usual suspect is a Character Format in the source (target) text. FM only requires you to delimit the start of a cross-reference of hypertext target, and uses various cues to determine the end of the range, one of which is encountering a ChFmt. re: Every time I edit, a blank page is created at the end of the page. This does not sound like anything that would normally be expected from FM. There are situations resulting in one or two unexpected blank pages, but not 30. Customary practice does not include attempting to delete pages per se, as they are likely to be automatically recreated until the root cause is addressed. And important user content can be lost trying to manually delete pages. Perhaps the first thing to look for is Body pages that are Disconnected Pages. Also inspect all the Master Pages, and see if the Reference Pages contain a MasterPageMaps table. Running an Apply Master Pages operation may fix this, but I'm inclined to bet that it will not.   ... The Table cells can contain any of the types of text suitable for Master Pages (which is both a bit more, and a bit less than Body pages can contain). I'm running a 3840×2160 32in display, at 150% scaling, and the FM2019 home screen opens correctly (i.e. mildly annoying, but no content overlaps).
