@J453 , thanks for getting back. The Ruler OFF helped, I even could reactivate it. As soon I am doing something to the image, e.g. zoom and/or out, it's jerky again independent rulers are on or off. Best results I get if things are unchecked like in screen shot, moving the curves point no longer jumps but is quiet slow, it's like moving throughout jelly. I am doing huge panos since ever this new slow-down effect is new. Unfortunately I have no longer a Mac running MacOS prior to Monterey to test any side effects between the two MacOS versions. Maybe all you guys here are working only on JPG or max 12 Mpixel raws. I can't believe how much Adone fanboy ignorance and lame excuses I face here without getting at least only ONE serious reply instead of only "I have no problems" neuro linguistically repetitions. - There is a SIGNIFICANT difference in speed and GPU usage if you compare Lr against CaptureOne. Conclusion: It not a hardware nor a OS problem but definitely a Adobe problem of worst ever adaption to another hardware and OS as Windows PCs. Did someone even open my attached PDF? On my Macs, the GPUs are perfectly detected, but not used at all. Zero. You can easily can track this yourself on "Activity Monitor" (or the Windows equivalent). That's a general issue with Adobe software on OSX and/or macOS. And independent if I try on a 2015 iMac5K or a recent beefy equipped MBP16, the result is the same: Adobe Software does not involve GPU on Mac in graphics processing - what is btw totally weird, the Mac is the graphics computer. Not the Windows PC. But somehow Adobe managed it to pervert this. Plase see attached screen shot. From over 2 hrs CPU runtime, developing raw files, exporting to jpg (88 images, that took 25 minutes), only 52 seconds the GPU was utilised. For what ever, but not that 25 minutes it took to export that 88 NEFs to JPG (46 megapixels from a Z7 to 2048 pixels long edge). You did not look at my PDF. This documents clearly, that the GPU is not utilised, BUT IT SHOULD FOR GRAPHICS TASKS. That's no Apple nor form over function problem, this is simply not or incorrect implemented in ALL Adobe software. If they would utilise the GPU and Metal correct, no problem. Also no heat problem. Did you even take a millisecong a look to my attached PDF? I don't think so. No one in the that user groups "feedback.photoshop.com/whatever" can help. In terms of utilising Apple's hardware correctly, Adobe is simply a catastrophe. Maybe it runs well in Windows PCs - but definitely not on Macs/OSX/macOS. I write it again for you, the problem is: Adobe software does not use the GPU/Metal/etc. Apple hardware for graphics accelleration. Read the PDF I attached contains some images. Maybe you understand them. Wish you a nice day. Thanks, but I am sure you agree, this is quite a extra workaround, if it could be done directly. Waste of time and ressources: I got a a7R4 and Sony's compressed ARW is NOT lossless. So, I highly recommend to all Sony shooters never ever to shoot Compressed ARW until Sony does not implement a lossless compression to firmware. Click here to read a quite interesting article on this. Best is RAF of Fuji's GFX medium format cameras. So, the idea is instead of importing the uncompressed ARW 130 MB each first and then in a second step convert it to DNG (lossless of course, but it's shrinked down to 60 MB lossless compressed DNG, if you add full size preview files will be 80 MB). The Adobe DNG Importer is a fine thing as beta, if already cameras are supported which in Camera Raw (and Lr) release are still missing. ... View more

The first screen shot is of preferences, where this selection option is clearly missing. The second screenshot is from the Lr Classic menu item "Library". There is no information nor guarantee settings there will be adapted by "Copy as DNG" on import. So: nothing pointless nor frivolous. Lack of continuity in the development departmens of Adobe.
