Hey all, Working on a project right now that contains 8K RED footage, along with 4K ProRes 4444 from a DJI Inspire. All the RED footage had proxies shot alongside full-res media in-camera, so that isn't an issue. But now I'm trying to create 1080 proxies based on the Inspire footage, which is where I've run into a snag. A handful of the clips have been spanned, meaning one clip was split into (at least) 2 .mov's within the same folder by the drone when it was filming. This is essentially how R3D clips work as well, but Premiere has a built-in way of grouping those spanned files together into one complete clip. Unfortunately, Premiere/AME doesn't look at DJI footage the same way, so when I go to import the files I need to create proxies for, it imports the spanned clips separately. This won't work for creating proxies, as I'll get a separate proxy for each spanned clip, when I'd rather have one proxy for the grouped/processed spanned clips as a whole. I hope that makes sense. In my mind, the best workaround would be to bring those spanned clips into a project, line them up in a timeline, nest them, and then create one proxy based on that nest. Would that work? Or is there a better way? Let me know your thoughts Thanks in advance for your help!
