Now the fanboys are silent (no surprise) when defends that Adobe at all cost. For me AIR was in maintenance mode at least the last 2 years: 1. 0 innovation. 2. We had almost to beg like a dog to get Windows 64 bits. 3. Critical issues delayed to the very last moment (Android 64 bits was the icing on top of the cake and motivate me to go away on AIR for Mobile - I didn't start iet but I will, even with the news). 4. Ridiculous excuses from fanboys about that they are not obligated and there is no need a beta version for testing and bla, bla, bla 5. And for last but not least, 0 support on the official adobe air forum. New name for the last official AIR 32 - Abandon Integrated Runtime This news where the best we got on the past last years, about AIR. No ones knows what will happen but at least there is hope. Having hope means that AIR community suffered for too much time. Now funboys can say that I need a doctor (I don't care )

I will manage my expectations until see where this will take as. This can turn into something bad or into something great. Any way, now AIR have a chance of a future, so this is great news and a surprise. Developers demanded for a way to pay to have appropriated support, bug fixs and if possible new features, performance improvements when possible and more ways to target AIR (Linux for example that we had in the past). So. let's see how much most people really wanted to happen and also a reasonable price is key for the success. Who said, that is normal to provide a software and not to response to his community on a official forum or provide support for Linux for dubious reasons, may see now a new reality (at least that's my felling with the announcement because it's the normal way in the software world).

With the missing AIR 33 and now suddenly this tiny update, this is what I think: 1. Yes, they may be doing the support for Android 64 2. Yes, they may be facing compatibility issues, hard to provide in a timer manner; 3. Yes, they should be proactive and not reactive and start doing this years ago but this is the way that they seems to do the things about AIR ! 4. Yes, this a AIR forum on a Adobe domain but it seems like a normal user forum so I there is not point to ask help for AIR dev here. I will not use AIR for mobile anymore and it's not because AIR technology is bad, on contrary, is far advanced than other options out there, but I'm still using AIR for desktop and anyway I'm glad that they will continue supporting it (even in a maintenance mode as it is and there is not question about it).

Why ? If Adobe don't reply to comments but we saw a vote reset, I'm free to see in any perspective.

People are saying that this was a bug but on my opinion they don't want to see the obvious (at least should consider other reasons).

I don't want to alienate your thread but I would be really, really surprised if Adobe answer to your post at this point. Do you really believe that Adobe is not aware of this issue after so many of us pointed so many times on other threads ? Don't think so much about what Adobe should do but what you should about with their silence ...

This is a great debate. What ASWC says is true (or part of it is true) but what PippoApps says is also true. AIR is an high productive runtime however part of that it's you, the developer. Of course if you compare AIR with Assembly, AIR it's 10.000% more productive even if you are a Assembly Guru, however there are out there other options less productive as AIR but still at least 5.000% more productive then Assembly. Xamarin allow you to code once and deploy even more options than AIR. Flutter it's also an option if you like the very new cool new thing. I have a web base application that I did years ago in 100% pure JS (yes, I said correctly), pure JS and I can say that I create a new page in a matter of minutes (a complex page with several options, grids, etc, etc ...). I can also test without have to compile anything (so I can say than I can be even more productive).

There is a very long debate about this issue on Adobe AIR Forum: AIR33 Where is it? At this point, only faith can show that. I'm using AIR for a big legacy application however I'm moving away from mobile.

You guys are so concentrate to see who have the reason that you forget the real issue. You may have "trolling" all this time or you may be thought that is normal and the very last minute you will get an update and prove everyone that you where right or maybe freaking out and losing your mind BUT if you don't have a backup plan right now, it's your fault, simple like that.

No surprises for me. I'm only one and made that decision my self, a few weeks ago. I have one app that I will refactor the layout completely (not because of this issue). To do so, between do with AIR or change runtime, I decided to move out from AIR and I hope to start soon. With this move, AIR Mobile will be ended for me. However I will keep AIR on Desktop. I'm not stressed with time because even after August, 32 bits apps will be available (without updates) and Android Q will be very new on a so fragmented operation system. I decided to change not only focused on this issue but on the overall.

As I said early: "3..2..1.. for the end of the world (on this foruns)" As I said before: 1. Web: HTML, period; 2. Desktop: AIR it's a pretty available option like many other options because Desktop it's stable and there are no "dictatorship" (as I read here); 3. Mobile: AIR it's probably the most "productive" runtime ever, even in maintenance mode on the past few years (don't try to argue that, because if you do, you are a fool) but we all live with that. The issue is, Mobile requires a productive entity maintenance the runtime all the time, period and on that field, AIR (or better who support it), could not be the worst ever ! Even if we get an updated before August, the issue will happen again any time soon. The best solution is to stay far from AIR on Mobile scope or you if are a gambler that it's the best option, lol.

I new release just came out: Adobe Labs | Previews, prereleases and beta software from Adobe The version kept the same (32) and as always I opened the release notes and I'm confused what is new (just a copy and past, changed the release date). I can identify only a fix on Flash Player. 3..2..1.. for the end of the world (on this foruns).

Probably. I guess that if they release v33 with Android 64 bits support, people will tell that they knew and how Adobe is great but if they release without fulfill these requirements will be the end of the world. Mark by post.

In a very quickly fast Google Search I found this: Hosting EXE Applications in a WinForm project - CodeProject You can also embed the exe as resource, export to temp folder and run as a process. Something like this: byte[] exeBytes = Properties.Resources.myApp; string exeToRun = Path.Combine(Path.GetTempPath(), "myApp.exe"); using (FileStream exeFile = new FileStream(exeToRun, FileMode.CreateNew)) exeFile.Write(exeBytes, 0, exeBytes.Length); Process.Start(exeToRun); This is a generic concept. Don't forget that there are files that your AIR app depends on. So you have 2 options: 1. Inside a Windows Forms (as if AIR app was a .net App but is not) 2. Run as a independent process and your main .net App it's like a truck. This seems so trojan and you probably will be blocked by antivirus.

Facts: Adobe does not respond to these forums A new release of AIR comes out every quarter The Android 64-bit requirement was timely enough The dead-line of the Android 64-bit requirement is close Currently AIR does not support 64-bit on Android Looking back (eg 64-bit iOS), we're likely to see the 64-bit version for Android almost dead-line Why instead of wasting time discussing the sex of the angels, don't start using the time to study alternative frameworks to at least know they exist and what you can do with it and eventually even decide to move (even if 64-bit AIR for Android sees the light of this days).

I know it's a little early but what this means to AIR on macOS: https://appleinsider.com/articles/19/02/21/intel-officials-believe-that-arm-macs-could-come-as-soon-as-2020 ? I guess that Apple will suggest fully optimized application for the new ARM's and allow emulation mode from the current ones but latter will not allow new applications and updates compiled in the old fashion. I hope not but, otherwise will be a new worry about AIR support this new threat.
