Hello, I also have a Vista PC, but of course I don't use Chrome because Chrome 50, 51, 52, 53, 54, and the current version 55 do not support Vista. If you want to continue using Vista, then Chrome is the wrong browser. If you want to continue using Chrome, then Vista is the wrong operating system. However I do have a suggestion for you. Open Chrome, type chrome:components into address bar and press Enter. Can you see Adobe Flash Player in the list? If yes, what version does it say you have now? And does it change if you click Check for update?

I don't understand why no one knows that Reader XI works fine on Vista (but certainly not Acrobat Reader DC). That shouldn't be surprising since Reader XI officially supports Server 2008, which was the server version of Vista. I will certainly never go back to Reader X.

Hi Wulfi. Did you install Opera 36? More recent versions of Opera do not support Vista: Initial Opera developer 37 release - Opera Desktop (Current versions of Mozilla Firefox still support Vista, and that is the browser I would recommend for your system.) Assuming you have the correct Flash Player PPAPI (current version 23.0.0.207), you might want to look at Installation problems | Flash Player | Windows 7 and earlier and more specifically Enable Flash Player for Opera .

Hi, a Google search reveals that the 2.33GHz "requirement" dates back to Flash Player 11 nearly five years ago. What exact version of Flash Player do you have installed currently, and for what browser, and for how long has it been unable to play anything? I'm able to use the current 23.0.0.207 version (NPAPI, PPAPI and ActiveX) on Vista, but my processor is 2.40GHz so perhaps not very reassuring to you. I'm pretty sure that Adobe does not distribute outdated Flash versions, but I do have an idea. Have you heard of a Chromium-based browser called Slimjet? Their download page would automatically redirect an XP system to Slimjet version 10.0.11.0, which includes embedded Flash version 23.0.0.185 (released on October 11, so of course there are known security issues as always) with automatic updates disabled. They also have an archive of older versions, e.g. Slimjet 10.0.10.0 includes Flash 22.x (I don't recall the exact version). I'm getting pretty tired, but I'll check in tomorrow.

Hello, I am also running 32 bit Vista and using the latest Firefox 50.0 with the latest Flash Player 23.0.0.207 (go to Firefox Add-ons > Plugins and click "More" link for Shockwave Flash to see if that is your exact version), but I have not seen any problems. If you are seeing an error message every time you open the internet, what does the message say? What is your home page, and have you tried setting a different home page? Perhaps you should be posting at Mozilla Support? Firefox will be the last major browser to support Vista when support for Internet Explorer 9 (and Vista) ends on April 11. I could name a few alternative browsers that support Vista, but I couldn't really recommend one. You could uninstall Flash Player ActiveX if you never use Internet Explorer, but that will not solve any problems with Firefox, which uses the NPAPI version. Another Vista user here. Firefox is definitely not blocking me from using the current version 11.0.18 (there is nothing "current" about version 10.1.13). The pesky plugin checker appears to have been removed from the latest Firefox 50.0, but it certainly used to report that even 11.0.18 was "outdated." That might be because Firefox plans to end support for all NPAPI plugins except Flash Player before long: https://blog.mozilla.org/futurereleases/2015/10/08/npapi-plugins-in-firefox/#more-2327. To be clear, Adobe Reader 11 never officially supported Vista, but always officially supported Server 2008 (which is basically identical to Vista), and it does work on Vista. I should mention that my Vista is 32 bit. If there is anything unusual about my Vista installation that allows Reader 11 to work well, it is probably either (A) absolutely no trace of older Adobe Reader products or (B) no corrupt system files. Hello vladv95575419. I visited "page that demonstrates the problem" using Firefox 50.0 with Flash Player 23.0.0.207 NPAPI and was able to play the video using either "ask to activate" or "always activate" settings and with protected mode on. However I was running Windows Vista SP2 32 bit, which is the closest thing I have to XP. Do you also have the same problem at other websites that require Flash, or only at tvrbc.ru/archive? What exact version of Adobe Flash Player does about:plugins show, and what version of Windows are you running? Google handles all Flash Player updates for Chrome, Adobe just supplies Google with the dll file.

I would try the full offline installer from here: Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution . 11.0.08 was the last version to support Windows XP. Did you run AcroCleaner when you uninstalled your previously installed version? If not, this link might prove necessary, but note that there are separate versions for Reader 9.x and for 10.x and later: Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs .

Hello. I visited nine.com.au using Firefox 49.0.2 with uBlock Origin and the latest Flash Player NPAPI (23.0.0.207) and was able to play all videos (however two were silent for some reason), perhaps because I'm not running Windows 10, but more likely because I'm not using FlashBlock (which is obviously not an Adobe product).

Slimjet developers didn't end support for NPAPI plugins until Slimjet 11. Slimjet 10 (based on Chromium 50) does support NPAPI, and that is where Slimjet plans to continue support for Windows XP and Vista. (I believe Opera 36 is based on Chromium 49, and if you ask me these XP diehards might as well be using Chrome 49 if they can't update their Flash Player anyway.) Slightly OT, but I am also able to use Adobe Reader 11.0.18 instead of Chromium PDF Viewer with this Slimjet version. Slimjet 11 and even 12 (based on Chromium 53) were made compatible with Vista; but as always XP diehards are dragging Vista down, so we will only remain supported on Slimjet 10.

Of course Maria: I'm also able to use the NPAPI plugin installed for Firefox (currently disabled to ensure I'm using Slimjet's PepperFlash). I haven't noticed any problems, but this is on 32-bit Vista, not XP and not Opera.

Yesterday I installed the recent Slimjet browser version 10.0.11.0 on my 32-bit Vista PC. It uses embedded pepperflash like Chrome, has the current 23.0.0.185 version, and it seems to be working fine for me. Either this latest issue only affects XP, or Opera isn't trying very hard to maintain the Opera 36 branch. The Slimjet download site would automatically redirect XP and Vista users to the version mentioned above.

Reader X is no longer supported: End of support for Acrobat X and Reader X . That means Adobe Reader officially does not support Windows Vista. (Unofficially, Reader XI works better on my Vista PC than the last 12 versions of Reader X ever did - I'm patched to the latest 11.0.17 version. If you entered Windows 7 as your operating system in Step 1, you could select Reader 11.0.10 in Step 3, then apply the latest cumulative patch - but if Adobe Reader was previously installed, you should run AcroCleaner first.) Foxit Reader has also ended support for Vista. If you wanted a PDF reader that still supports Vista, then you might want to try Sumatra.

I can almost guarantee you it is malware - especially if you already have the current Flash Player 22.0.0.192 ActiveX installed. The only question is whether IE is being redirected to eekumyoutube.org by malware that is already on your system or by "malvertising." I would recommend a full scan with your preferred security software against the first possibility, and using something like Adblock Plus for IE for the second possibility (but unfortunately that extension slows down IE considerably.) Probably most people running Vista are using other PDF readers such as Sumatra or Foxit these days, but I use Reader XI on my Vista PC even though it never officially supported Vista. After selecting Windows 7 in Step 1, you can select Reader 11.0.10 in Step 3. After downloading, right-click and run as administrator. (But if Adobe Reader was previously installed, it is a good idea to run AcroCleaner first.) Assuming that Adobe Reader 11.0.10 is working properly, you can then download and apply the latest cumulative patch: Adobe - Adobe Reader : For Windows : Adobe Reader 11.0.16 update - All languages. [Edit] Recently learned that Foxit Reader no longer lists Vista as a supported OS either.

You should've ignored the Firefox plugin checker. Did you use the AcroCleaner removal tool when you uninstalled Reader? The last Adobe Reader product that officially supported Vista was Reader X, but Adobe ended support for Reader X six months ago: End of support for Acrobat X and Reader X . It is therefore not surprising that Vista and Reader X are no longer mentioned at the download site. Probably most people running Vista are now using other PDF readers such as Sumatra or Foxit. It so happens that I have a 32-bit Vista PC, and I am using Reader XI, even though it never officially supported Vista - in fact I applied the latest 11.0.16 patch yesterday. (Nevertheless, the Firefox plugin checker incorrectly states that it is outdated.) If you are using Firefox, the default setting for Flash plugin is "Ask to Activate." You could change that to "Always Activate" if you are not concerned about Flash exploits.

The current version of Adobe Flash Player NPAPI for Firefox is 20.0.0.267, and the latest ActiveX version for Internet Explorer is 20.0.0.270. I suggest that you uninstall your antique versions via Control Panel > Programs and Features, then go to Adobe Flash Player Install for all versions (once with Firefox, and once with IE if you actually use it). Deselect any optional software that you do not want and install.

I would try uninstalling the old version via Control Panel first. Do you actually use Internet Explorer? If no, then you don't really need the ActiveX version; there are separate versions for Chrome and Firefox. If yes, then go to the download site using IE and it should give you the ActiveX version.

Using a browser plugin that was released in August 2012, is no longer supported and with Protected Mode off sounds like a very bad idea to me. I'm using Reader 11.0.13 myself.

Why on earth are you running Reader X on Windows 7? The latest product is Reader DC. Granted, some people don't like it (including me), but the second-latest product is Reader XI. Support for Reader X officially ended November 15: End of support | Acrobat X and Reader X. I would suggest that you uninstall all traces of 10.x with the cleaner tool: Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs. Then go to Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Install for all versions and select either Reader DC or 11.0.10. If you select the latter, you will need to turn off automatic updates via Edit > Preferences > Updater to avoid being upgraded to the former. Good luck!
