I wonder if your document is accidentally built in two sections, instead of one? Check your Preferences > General > Page Numbering and make sure pagination is set to Sections, not Absolute.

I'm having a strange problem with your file, which is forcing me to change my normal workflow. Normally I would group your artwork and select Edit > Cut. But when I do this with your file I get a PDF error, which states that InDesign failed to export the PDF file. As a workaround, choose File > Export > Adobe PDF (Print). Create a PDF and save it somewhere. Next, create a new document that's 400mm x 280mm. Set your margins to 5mm. On the page, create a graphic frame that's 390mm x 270mm to allow for 5mm margins on all four sides. With frame selected, choose File > Place. Select the PDF you made and click to place it in the empty frame. Double click on the Content Grabber (circles in the middle of the image) to select the content (not its frame) and size and position the artwork as you wish. Save your file and choose File > Package to create a package with the original InDesign file, a PDF, and an .idml version as well. All fonts will also be part of the package.

The only way Illustrator content can be edited in InDesign is via Copy/Paste. Copy/paste is somewhat limited in that complex Illustrator appearances will not paste faithfully. The other downside is that once an object is pasted into InDesign, any editing you do will not be reflected back to its .ai original. If you're OK with these limitations, copy/paste can be a helpful strategy in some situations.

See my screen shot. In my sample I pasted in simple boxes at the beginning of each line. Next, I selected each box and chose Type > Check Box from InDesign's Buttons and Forms panel. Finally, export as PDF Interactive. The check boxes with display check marks when clicked.

I just did a Data Merge project and learned that when creating a .csv file from Excel, you MUST choose the .csv version hightlighted in the attached screen capture. Although Excel offers other flavors of .csv, this is the only one I found that works reliably with Data Merge.

InDesign does not have a bucket tool. Or a three dot elipsis to indicate more tools. You're confusing InDesign with Photoshop. The only bucket tool in Illustrator is the Live Paint Bucket tool.

You might also consider breaking up the project into logical pieces. These pieces can be worked on independently. InDesign's Book feature can then be employed to sync and reconstitute the pieces into one final PDF for publication. Lots of info out there on how to use the Book feature.

As Nigel explains, TOC entries are triggered by paragraph styles and use all text tagged by that selected style. In your case you could tell InDesign to use only Style A, but there's no way for it to only include the bold text. If, on the other hand, the bold text were its own paragraph (with the rest of the entry tagged by another unique paragraph style beginning on the line below), you'd be done.

Hi Joseph! I'm not sure I understand your question. I also don't understand why you say that paragraph styles don't allow you to achieve what you're trying to do? You may need to create nested styles, which are simply character styles that are built into paragraph styles. Please try to clarify what you're trying to do. From looking at your screen shot it appears that your image frame is larger than the image itself. Plus, your stroke color looks like it's the same gray as your pasteboard. Try making the entire frame smaller and I suspect you'll then see your 2 pt stroke!

Minion Pro, Garamond Pro are both beautiful fonts for body copy. Minion comes with a Condensed style, too. Both fonts include very extensive character and OpenType alternates like Ordinals, Small Caps, and more. A safe bet for heads and subheads would be a san serif like Gotham, Akzidenz Grotesk, or even Myriad.

Your problem is the result of conflicting color spaces. PNGs are inherently RGB, whereas your PDF is inherently CMYK. Either combine the PNG logo and black background as one RGB document, or if exporting the ID doc to PDF, make sure the ID doc uses an RGB colorspace as does the PDF.

Check your Display Performance settings. My guess is that InDesign is using Typical rather than High Quality settings. Settings can be changed application wide via Preferences > Display Performance or on a per Object basis from (menu bar) View > Display Performance.
