My suggestion would be your 840 EVO for your OS/Applications and the 960 Pro for your projects and Media  Os this basially a Premiere Pro computer?  Once you are up and running Windows and Premiere are basically running out of memory so use you fastest SSD for the Project and Media files.  Hard disk drives are best used for backup and archiving. You have not given us a enough configuration info.  I would strongly suggest that you clone your internal hard disk drive to a SATA III SSD and then swap it out for the internal hard disk drive,if that is what you have..  That was my first step with this ASUS laptop about 3-4 years ago.  Then get yourself a good USB 3. portable SSD like a Samsung T5 and use that for your Project and Media files.  Here is the performance of a Samsung USB 3.1 on my desktop which only has USB 3.0 but I acquired a Startech USB 3.1 add in card to test it to its maximums.  What you want to look at is the Sequential read/write rates that are necessary for video editing. The minimum processor for Photoshop is a Pentium where apparently your Lenovo Ideapad 120S only has a Celeron processor.  The storage of 32 GB is not a Hard Disk Drive but instead is a eMMC solid state module which actually is a lot better (faster) than a HDD but it is soldered onto the motherboard.  You can overcome the storage shortage since this Ideapad has USB 3 ports.  If you go out and but and buy a good USB 3 portable SSD like the Samsung T series . They have now discontinued the T1 and T3 maybe you can find a bargain like this but the crrent smallest T5 SSD is 250 GB and runs $110 cost direct from Samsung. Just for you I ran an experiment.  In my experimental computer I have normally an nVidia GTX 1060 .  I decided to also install an AMD R9-280X next to it to see how these two would get along and if they could coexist.  Amazingly they coexist well.  I started a new project and in the startup screen I was offered all 3 options (CUDA, OpenCL and software) for the Renderer as you can see I also ran GPUSniffer with this setup: To further test this strange pair of GPU's I ran my Premiere Pro BenchMark and the GPU intensive test I got 44 seconds for the R9-280X and as usual the CUDA card outperformed it by scoring the same test in 32 seconds. Your pair of AMD cards you indicate SLI, that term is only nVidia for AMD they use the term Crossfire.  I would strongly suggest you unlink those cards and make sure you have current drivers and in my opinion they should coexist although I cannot imagine any editing purpose for the combination.  You cannot see activity of GPU acceleration on both cards at the same time, it is either one or the other. I do it all the time..  I have several Samsung T series USB 3 portable SSD's.  I have all the project files and media files on the Samsung and do the basic erditrng on my laptop and when almost finished I unplug the drive and walk it to the desktop for final steps and exporting to deliverable format. The change is very smooth and swift.  Forget hard disk drives they are in many cases way to slow. 22-core CPU means a $4000 Xeon and there is no logical reason to consider that series for your work that I can see.  I would second John Smith's suggestion that you contact one of the vendors listed and with a conservation where they can ask a series of questions and then come up with the ideal configuration for you to buy and then they fully support it. I downloaded your project and it is not helped much by more CPU playing that timeline  I ran the project on both my laptop and my 8-core i7-5960X at 4.5 GHz and while it was slightly better than the frame loss it was not enough to be happy with that.  Both cases there were thousands of missing frames.  Both of my computers are all SSD so that did not help.  There is no GPU acceleration so no upgrade that way will do any good Your green screen is a non-standard 490 x 360 resolution, I do not know if that could contribute to frame loss during playback.  I Your media is MP4 that requires lots of CPU power, maybe if you converted to an easier codec like AVI you might find it better suite to your editing.   It of course does require more storage space but since it is native to Premiere it will be worthwhile to try that for your editing process, then you can always export back to MP4. ... Take a look at this Factory Refurbished Dell.  The only question you should ask before buying is "What model is the nVidia graphics card?  I am guessing it is a GTX 1060 as they do say it is nVidia and 6 GB.  It has a SSD with OS and Apps but then a lousy 1 TB 5400rpm drive.  To get around this either replace it with a SATA III SSD or you can use a Samsung T3 or T5 which is a very edit friendly portable USB 3 SSD. ... I cannot afford any new cards.  As a matter of fact I am getting rid of some. When you look at the small percentage improvement where (my test) CPU only is ~250 seconds and see that same timeline with GPU accelerations are in the 13 seconds to 24 seconds range, you are only talking a improvement of 236/250  94.8% versus 226/250 or 90.4%  So by spending 2-4 times as much you get a 5% performance improvement if you are using a lot of GPU accelerated effects and features My PPBM testing covers a very wide range of nVidia architectures with many different memory types.  You cannot compare Memeory speeds between cards that specification was put in to to show the amount of overclocking that is available.  For instance you cannot CUDA overclock the GTX 900 series ...
