I'm on a mac with a pretty fresh install of CC. Many times I open a file and I'm missing fonts so it says "Resolve with Typekit?" I think, "why yes, let's do this." But they do not get resolved. So I assume that Typekit or Adobe fonts doesn't actually have that font licensed. However, in this case, it's Roster font, which IS licensed by Typekit. However, Typekit isn't actually resolving this.

There are some actions I want to make that involve a combo of manipulation to a layer and then "export as". I want it to stop performing once the Export As window is up. Currently if I were to make an action with Export As, the action will also keep the knowledge of where the file was saved and the name. I don't want that. I want to choose, every time, where to save the file and what to name it. My desire is that the action I make will do a maniuplation to a layer and then open the "export as" window and stop.

I do a lot of Classic Tweening. I would like to use animated Graphic Symbols a lot more because I like seeing my animations on the main stage when I scrub. Seldomly do I make my animation symbols as Graphic symbols... and that's because of how difficult they are to work with on the main timeline. Let me give you an example. Inside the symbol, I am rotating a star 3 times over a span of 100 frames. On the main timeline, I am moving that symbol from left stage to right stage, tweened over 100 frames. I then decide that I want the rotating star to move from left to right over 50 frames. So I move the keyframe at frame 100 and move it to frame 50. If I were to publish this now, the star will rotate nicely but then once the main timeline hit frame 50, the rotating star would jump to it's own frame 100. This is where the pain-in-the-butt comes in. I have to click on frame 50 on the main timeline and adjust the Graphic Symbols frame number to 50 in order to keep the rotating star playback smooth. Is there an auto-update feature I'm not aware of for Classic Tweening that will update the Graphic Symbol's frame number depending on where you move the keyframe on the main timeline?

Thanks, David! While your suggestion about a shortcut for Play is helpful, you are correct on your feeling; there are a few separate Actions that I would want direct access to with separate keyboard shortcuts. I tried to submit a feature request for this but Adobe's feature request/bug report sends me to this page. So I guess this is where I suggest feature requests? For me the workflow would help because I don't want to have the Actions window open. I want as much clean workspace as possible. And I want keyboard shortcuts to all my custom Actions. I'm all about speedy workflow, and the function keys don't cut it for me. I'm actually surprised that this wasn't in place 5 years ago.

I want to assign custom keyboard commands to Actions. Like Command+Shift+R or something like that. The F keys are at the top of my keyboard and require my eyes to make sure I'm hitting the right F key. I operate very quickly and need the Actions to be triggered by keys that are closer to where my left hand sits on the keyboard. (I usually have a wacom pen in my right hand.)

I import several nice quality images into Animate. They look fuzzy every time. Like, "What is going on with my images? Did I export them heavily compressed?" Then I realize when I look at the property settings for each image, the Allow Smoothing is checked. Also, the jpgs are compressed even further rather than lossless. Anyone know how to make it so all imported images will be lossless and no smoothing?

I'm making a html canvas banner ad for my client with Animate CC. At the bottom is a disclaimer for their product. My client wants to scroll through the disclaimer with their finger when they're on their phone or iPad. (See supporting image below.) Any ideas if that is possible? I don't know how to do it. Thanks!

I'm having unacceptable stuttering problems with animated images. 300x600a – Bad stuttering: Watch and see the stuttering. It's especially bad as the 3rd image comes to a rest. 300x600b – Fixed-ish, but via a poor technique: Watch and see that the stuttering is mostly gone. I did this by changing the scale of the photos from 100% to 100.1%. While this trick fixes the stuttering, we're left with a slightly fuzzy photo and displeased clients. Download files here. Before suggestions are made that I need to replace the createjs.Ticker code with the RAF_SYNCHED code. I've already done that. (See the find/replace below if you're unfamiliar with this as it will improve your animations.) If a contest was held titled "Who Creates the Smoothest Animation", Animate's canvas animations will lose to animations made by hand-coded, GSAP or GoogleWebDesigner. My guess is because those don't use createjs or canvas? Stuttering has long been an issue in Animate and I think it should be addressed. Commands are saved as .jsfl files. Replace that .jsfl code with this: var selectedLayer = fl.getDocumentDOM().getTimeline().getSelectedLayers(); fl.getDocumentDOM().getTimeline().setLayerProperty('layerType', 'mask'); fl.getDocumentDOM().getTimeline().setSelectedLayers(++selectedLayer); fl.getDocumentDOM().getTimeline().setLayerProperty('layerType', 'masked'); You can find the .jsfl file and other commands at: User/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Animate CC 2019/en_US/Configuration/Commands/” Please follow below steps to save the command and assign a keyboard shortcut to it: Paste your jsfl file to User preferences commands folder : e.g. On MacOs: “ ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Animate CC 2019/en_US/Configuration/Commands/” Now in Animate CC, saved jsfl will come under Commands menu. Whatever you named the file will be the name of the command in the Commands menu. Go to Animate CC menu >> keyboard shortcut >> Search for saved command >> Assign Keyboard Shortcut to it. Examining the issue closer, here's what I found: I set the magnification of the current project to 100%. I centered the stage. Every project I open from thereon opens at 100% for 1 second and then automatically changes the view to "Fit to Window". I can watch the magnification number... A. go from 100% to 309% (728x90 stage) B. go from 100% to 703% (320x50 stage) C. go from 100% to 90% (300x600 stage) Disregard the centering issue. I am not actually having that issue. I apologize. I've entered a few feature and bug requests today for Animate at this page. Problem: When I hit "submit" it takes me to a redirect page... and then to the Adobe Blog. There was one other time it took me to what I recall was a survey page that was green but branded with a different company. Both of these results when you hit "submit" make little sense to show the user who just submitted a feature or a bug request. Why would I want to go to the blog? Why would I want to go to another branded web page? Solution: When a feature/bug is submitted, there should be a "Thank you" confirmation page that also summarizes your input. Make the user feel like they're being listened to. Also there should be a confirmation email sent to the submitter. It takes energy by the user to submit these things. Please respect the user. I am for hire if you'd like me to handle this part of Adobe's site.

Kglad, here's what I did: 1. Make a layer a mask. 2. Open your History window. 3. Select the action you just did. 4. Right-click it, "Save as Command" 4b. You'll see it now in the Command window. 5. Open Keyboard Shortcuts, and assign it a shortcut.

Currently, when you right-click a layer to make it a mask, it will turn the layer to a mask and make the layer below a child of that mask. I made a command for making a layer a mask. Then I made a shortcut for that command. When I execute the shortcut, it makes the layer a mask, but it does NOT make the layer below a child of that mask.

Looks like it kept my keyboard shortcuts. But it dumped all my custom commands and any keyboard shortcuts associated with them. My custom workspaces were migrated successfully. No problems there.

I just upgraded to Animate CC version 19 (Oct 2018) and lost all my keyboard shortcuts. I had probably 25 custom keyboard shortcuts that made use of the commands. Pretty sad. Any guidance out there on this?

I’ve created a lot of animated ads and have been disappointed in the stutter playback on Chrome. To enable you brilliant people to help solve this problem, I’ve created a simple version of the issue. Here, I have 3 cat images that animate from left to right. The images are only 300x250px and about 28k each. I’m trying to solve the specific problem of getting rid of the stutter that happens as the images travel from left to right. Do you have any suggestions? It works pretty smoothly in Safari and Firefox. Chrome shows significant stutter. See Version A - Made with Animate CC Stutters heavily in Chrome See Version B - Made with Google Web Designer (GWD). Smooth as butter in Chrome. No issues. I realize Version B is not a fair comparison to Version A since GWD isn’t using canvas or createjs. Download the files. Thanks for any insight.

An unreliable quirky workaround is to NOT import the gif. I have an animated gif called "rabbit.gif". Instead of importing that gif to the stage, import a jpg to the stage with the same name: "rabbit.jpg". After publishing, open the html file in an editor and find/replace "rabbit.jpg" and change the ".jpg" to ".gif". Make sure your "rabbit.gif" is in the images folder. Then delete your "rabbit.jpg" file from the images folder. You'll find this works. You can tween it too. What you'll find quirky is when you refresh the page. I can't get it to restart the animated gif. I've tried tweaking the code a bit, but I'm just a light coder dude and haven't solved it. I believe the hangup is Animate is trying to synchronize timing of the different elements. And doesn't think to restart the gif. I've tried having the gif start on frame 2.. and also dropping it on the last frame. That didn't work.

I'm making an HTML5 Canvas document with Animate CC. I want to use an animated gif "as is". When I import the gif, it makes frames from the sequence and creates the sequence of images (now pngs) in the library. When publishing, instead of referencing the original gif, it uses the png sequence. Where is the option to just use the gif? This is simple html afterall, isn't it? A simple src="images/myanimatedgif.gif" should do in the output code.
