Photoshop: Allow Actions to be triggered by the whole keyboard rather than just the F keys

Thanks, David!  While your suggestion about a shortcut for Play is helpful, you are correct on your feeling; there are a few separate Actions that I would want direct access to with separate keyboard shortcuts.    I tried to submit a feature request for this but Adobe's feature request/bug report sends me to this page.  So I guess this is where I suggest feature requests?

For me the workflow would help because I don't want to have the Actions window open.  I want as much clean workspace as possible.  And I want keyboard shortcuts to all my custom Actions.  I'm all about speedy workflow, and the function keys don't cut it for me.  I'm actually surprised that this wasn't in place 5 years ago.

You can use CMD+SHIFT+r to activate an Action.  Click Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts and select the Panel menus.  Go to Actions and drill down until you find Play.  Set that shortcut to CMD+SHIFT+r.  Voilà.  Now, that shortcut will automatically play whatever Action you have selected.

I've a feeling, however, that you want such a shortcut to directly activate a specific Action, which currently is not supported, other than via Function keys.  I have, however, put in a feature request for this capability.  To correctly prioritize this, it would be helpful if you could share how such a change could improve your workflow (which you kinda already did, but the more justification, the better).  Feel free to simply chime in on this thread.
