In many of these threads, you'll see comments regarding "Action Manager" code vs "DOM" code.  The action manage code is the type generated by the scriptListener.  Sometimes it's a bit hard to figure out what's going on, but you can generally get the idea from the odd abbreviations used in the code.  The DOM code is easier - at least for me to read and write, and it fills in the gaps when peicing together the action manager code.  ps-scripts.com is a great resourse. for coding, but it's mainly js. ... Scripting would solve these issues.  I'm on Win.  I don't think Win has a watch feature like the Mac, but I could be wrong.  I have a time-lapse camera set up in which I use a script to check to see if there is a new image.  What I do is set up one folder just for the camera uploads.  Then my script is set up to loop and check that folder at a certain interval by using the sleep function.  It then processes the image and saves it to a couple different folders.  Doing it this way, however, locks up that computer for just processing those images.  With the script, you can have it keep track of a naming sequence. Edit:  By usinig the hold folder, if there are any files in it, the script will process them.  I copy the original files to a done folder so that the ones in the hold folder can be deleted.  The processed images go into another folder. ... I was just relooking at my script that uses XML to place info on images.  I didn't use the toString for that.  I did make sure I used the CDATA to store the values in the XML, then I just transferred that value to a variable, then use that variable to set the text in the document.  I even ran a test using the "&" and it worked.  Here's the line from my XML that uses the "&" <item blockType="0" sText="" ><![CDATA[This & That]]></item> This is the line of text I use to pull that info back out.  It's a from a loop that goes through the entire XML puts the info back into a UI variable. currentXMLVal = x.presets.preset .child(d.children.name); ... What video card do you have?  The tree and frame script, I believe, rely on OpenGL for the preview, so if your card isn't up to paar, that feature maybe grayed out.  You might be able to get around this by editing a line of code in one of the Deco files.  If you open _Deco Settings.jsx file in appFolder/Presets/Deco in a text editor, try changing the line about openGL from true to false.  If you do this, you will not get a preview, but you might be able to run the scripts.
