1) The code colouring options need sorting our asap, I'm not talking about adding it back into the preferences, if it was flexible enough I'd be happy to edit the LESS theme file, it only needs doing once. But the problem is I can't set language specific code colouring, so PHP almost blends in with the HTML, you can edit the .cm-meta class and it helps a little bit but it's a very, very poor solution. In brackets you can do something called mode-aware styles for themes but it doesn't seem to work from within Dreamweaver. Please ask a Dreamwever engineer to at least give a solution to this ASAP please. 2) The new code hints are twitchy/glitch and a bit annoying tbh, the old code hints and how they worked were familiar and much better. 3) Please restore the option to wrap when creating a new snippet, it's been removed from the UI thus creating more work for us. The Keywords Triggers is a welcome.useful addition, along with Preprocessors. 4) Live preview function is a waste of time and has some weird glitches, live preview can be done via Chrome or Firefox extensions anyway. 5) At launch when I open a page in code view it take at least 10 seconds to render the view. I turned of Sync in setting off Adobe CC settings and it quickened things up a bit but still pretty slow. 6) I don't  know why Adobe was so desperate to integrate Brackets, does it even support Brackets extensions from within Dreamweaver? If not then that makes it even more pointless. If it aint broke then don't try to fix it! Dreamweaver could have been something amazing by now but Adobe just seem to have this scatter-gun approach to what they do with it !! There's so many features people have been crying out for but it falls on deaf ears almost every time. I think Adobe is out of touch with the real Dreamweaver users, maybe because were busy and not posting on the forum or feature request site every 5 minutes. This is n ot my normal mode but I'm just plain fed up!! My advise (it'll never happen) Restore old code view engine / ditch Brackets & just add some features that people have been requesting for YEARS, one example bookmark line/ move to bookmark feature. If you can't do that, give us an option to switch to the old code view engine, I was happy  that and Emmet integration, which btw there was a 3rd party extension for anyway before Adobe integrated it Ditch LIve View (it's useless, always has been no matter how Adobe keep trying to push it, they are flogging a dead horse, it's laggy, twitchy, has performance issues, totally user unfriendly & plain awful) and put some work into Design View. Its a new system now based on the brackets engine, total waste of development time IMO and just makes a lot people's life very difficult. What I need is an Adobe engineer to come on here and tell me how to implement Brackets 'mode-aware styles' inside of Dreamweaver - it's a feature of Brackets themes. Although I've never used Brackets before I downloaded it, wasted a lot of time reading Wikis etc on on Brackets themes and testted my own custom theme in Brackets using some simple mode-aware styles to highlight PHP code, it works in Brackets, doesn't work in Dreamweaver. Unfortunately Adobe has completely messed it up. Its the final straw for us, our workflow has been built around Dreamweaver since version 3 but we can't put our business at the mercy of Adobe anymore, at least we can use cc 2015 for  a while we look at and take the leap to new options The exiting code view engine in Dreamweaver was fine and very familiar and some of us had things like our own custom code colouring files set up for years and suddenly just have the rug pulled from under our feet yet again by Adobe. Why have Adobe completely ripped up the code view editor for Brackets when a few simple improvements would have been fine. Code view already had decent code hints/completion and we had emmet already which with some learning I found is very powerful. Has Adobe added bookmark line/ move to bookmark feature yet. People have been crying out for it for years but I can't see it? Has Adobe extended the Bootstrap features for frontend designers. People have been crying out for missing Bootstrap elements and more starter templates (there are a ton out there that could be used) Has Adobe integrated GIT yet? People have been crying out for this for ages and the SVN integration was left crippled and subsequently removed (as Adobe do). Priorities are all wrong Adobe, listening to wrong the people as usual serious Dreamweaver users who's business and workflow rely on it get the rug pulled from under their feet, while the people who want to play about with it and see what Brackets would look like in there get to have a play and then go back to Brackets. ... It's not a theme I need .... I need to know how to implement mode-aware styles, it works in standalone Brackets, doesn't work in the integrated Dreamweaver/Brackets.... It allows for colors to be specefied for specific languages CSS, PHP, JT etc ....  Gives more control and allows to make PHP standout in a page for example. ... View more

Has anyone got language specific color coding working? Dont really see you logic Nancy .... They ware woefully out of date because Adobe chose not to update them for several years - the writing was on the wall when they pulled the plug on ADDT ...... They should have either removed them all together early on or updated them with MySQLi or PDO support .... Adobe does pretty much what they want with little transparency. Was there ever a clear message early on that server behaviours are finished?? .... when you are a dominate force and pretty much a monopoly you can do what ever you like!! ..... I don't think they're hobbling it as such .... But either remove it completely of fix it .... I think as already mentioned on here you're probably best hand-coding your CSS and taking advantage of the code completion features because there's no way the classic CSS panel is ever coming back ........ Its all geared up for Graphic Designers, WYSWIG, Live View etc. Adobe seem to be wasting their resources trying to come up with 'the next big thing' instead of developing and fixing their core products and lets not even get started about Fireworks, what a strange deciosoin given that ImageReady was dropped in favout of Fireworks a few years earlier ... there's still no viable replacement for Fireworls ... I think some of the codebase from backstage went into Dreamweaver .... Drumbeat became Dreamweaver Ultradev .... I'm assuming codebase from Drumbeat and Backstage was used in Dreamweaver/Dreamweaver Ultradev. I'm trying to remember if at one time there were two version of Dreamweaver?? .... Ultradev which had all the sever side support and another version without the server side features, I'm not 100% sure?? ... anyway I think Ultradev was scrapped or at least the name was and there was just one Dreamweaver package with all features which was called Dreamweaver MX, ... Maybe Adobe should say honestly they don't really care about old Macromedia customers and just pushing Dreamweaver to their Photoshop and Graphic Designers user base now ..... And has the old color picker been brought back or at least an option to choose between the stupid adobe color picker  and the old color cubes? Instead. Its very easy to repeat pick commonly used colors from a color cubes palette,  I'm not really sure how the Adobe color pallete is supposed to have improved it?? ..... I agree but think your wasting your breath ..... Adobe are NOT interested in the old Macromedia community and long-time users of Dreamweaver .... They are more interested in moulding Dreamweaver for their Graphic Design customers from what I can see ,,,,... They are adding more and more WYSIWYG features and what was once considered a professional tool is being turned into a design tool for novice web designers. This seems to be in keeping with their covert strategy of what they want to do with Dreamweaver .... 1) do not update and eventually remove all server side features  2) add more WYSIWYG stuff like live edit and css designer to make it easier for graphic designers to cross over into web design. The Classic CSS Panel needs to be available and fully functional and if Adobe want to do something useful while they are fixing that they could add a media queries tree to the classic css panel ... In fact a lot of the CSS designer features look a lot like those found in Microsoft Web Expression.  If Adobe had just updated the classic CSS panel by adding a media queries tree I think all loyal Dreamweaver users would have been very happy, I mean why are they following Web Expression features, its a different user base surely???...... From what I am told the last version to include a fully functional classic CSS panel (CTL+SHIFT+ALT+P to switch from CSS Designer Panel) is Dreamwevaer CC (v13.0) - Somebody else maybe able to confirm that.... ... You might as well face facts that the old Macromedia community were abandoned by Adobe a long time ago, Adobe had their own agenda with the Macromedia range and will not listen. Freehand - Great alternative to Illustrator - killed off ... OK I suppose it doesn't make sense to have Freehand alongside Illustrator but it had a lot of loyal users I'm told. Fireworks - In the process of being killed off by Adobe, by far the best program for creating web mockups, ux design, web graphics etc ... a fast, intuitive, brilliant piece of software, Adobe announced they will be looking at new products to fill the gap left by Fireworks as the landscape changes.... Nothing has happened and no new product has been introduced that can replace Fireworks, it still remains by a million miles the best software for web mockups/graphics of all kinds ..... Dreamweaver - The old Macromedia Dreamweaver community have been abandoned in favour of what appears to be turning Dreamweaver into more of a WYSWIG for graphic designers with features like the CSS designer and live edit .... I have NOT come across a single experienced web designer/developer who likes the CSS designer feature and I would be interested to know  how they have built a roadmap for the development of Dreamweaver. The fact that Adobe did very little with the server side features in Dreamweaver from CS4 onwards tells the story that they had decided early on to phase out all the server side features ...
