You know Flash still live, right? Just renamed to Animate. All the capabilities are still there, including publishing mobile apps. But I am a PhoneGap and Ionic Framework developer mostly. XD works very well in that workflow.

Adobe XD will allow you to export the various art assets for use by developers. It will not produce working code, nor any of the prototyping information that you may have added. It will simply give you PNGs (at various resolutions) or SVGs. Chris

The element's section is probably the name of the artboard that the UI element is originally on in the source XD file. I am not aware of an interface item within XD that label. So, when you copy that UI element from one XD file to another, the parent artboard is ignored, hence not begin in the 'elements' section. As for drag and drop, it is something is the roadmap. Working with CC libraries have been of a higher importance to the team for the past few releases. Glad you are enjoying XD. What you have created in XD is just a prototype, not an actual application that can be deployed to an app store. You can export the assets you created within XD and use them as you author your application in another solution (native or hybrid) to produce an actual application.

Which OS are you running on? There is a difference currently between the Mac and Windows versions in what features are available. The Windows version is behind, since development on that platform started after the Mac version.

Adobe Experience Design is not a development tool, but rather a tool that allows you to create the visual designs of your project, prototype some of the interactions of it, then export the design assets out to be used by the development team. It will not generate code that can be compiled into a mobile app, or a web app.

Under the File menu, there is an Export menuitem. This will export the visual assets in a variety of formats (PNG, SVG, PDF). You can choose the target usage as well; design, web, mobile. As to what products to use, that is a tough call. It depends on the level of experience on both the design and development portion of the task. If you are more design oriented, then Muse might be good. If you are more development oriented, then code away in Dreamweaver and use the assets exported from XD, Photoshop or Illustrator. There is no one solution.

XD will export the assets for use in other solutions. The primary goal of XD to quickly prototype the user flow of the 'experience' (app, site, etc) and validate that with a client or internally.

Since Flex was donated to the Apache Foundation (http://flex.apache.org/), it would be up to the community to refresh the Flex Mobile theme to a newer look. I don't know if it is on their roadmap. You are certainly free to tackle the effort yourself and contribute it to the project. Chris

You would need CS5.5 or later to publish from within Flash Professional. It is possible to compile with the command line, but that might prove difficult depending on the structure of the project.

You can not transfer a .air on to any mobile device without first recompiling it for it each target mobile platform. Go back to your project and change the Publish Target from AIR desktop to AIR for Android. You will then have to fiil out various settings and probably also deal with unsupported code that you will have to deal with. Good luck, Chris Griffith

Unfortunately AIR does not expose access to any of the native controls. Their might be an ANE that would expose it, but I have not seen one. The lack of access to default widgets has always been one of the weak points of AIR. It is fully capable if you have a 100% custom UI, but if you need to use 'native' widgets you are out of luck. I am fairly certain the issue is you are submitting an update to an existing app with a new cert. The other apps work just fine because they are not updates, but new submissions to the app store. You will need to use the same certs that you used with the initial submission.

To use a pre-populated database, you just have included the database file when you package your app. Go to AIR for Android Settings, and use the Included files controls. Note, that the database will be in a READ-ONLY directory on the device. You will need to copy the database to the documents directory in order to write to it. Chris

There is no method to automatically add an application to the home screen. The applications that are initially there were placed there by the carrier/OEM. The user has to manually add them to their home screen.
