I know mine worked liked that but now it doesn't and I did try put the cache on differ drives thinking it could be a permissions issue. I have tried everything. Whats really confusing it is just audio files , it doesn't matter if it is a video file.

So when premier writes the pek file to the high speed scratch drive premiere doesn't see it but when it writes the pek file next to the original file premiere sees the pek file. I'm confused.

If I put cfa and pek files in that specific location waveforms on audio files will not show up unless I zoom into them. I have to have the cfa and pek next to the original files for it to generate a waveform. I never had this problem come up until a couple of days ago. Noting changed on my system, as a matter of fact it did it wile I was in a project editing.

I got mine to work by saving the cfa and pek files next to the original but my computer is noticeably slower. This also happened about a day ago , it just stopped writing the waveform files.

Having the same problem . Does it with cc2018 and 2019. I just got done resetting everything because now it needs to write the cya and pen files next to the original files or the waveforms won't appear with audio files. I never had to do this before now it feels everything is running slower.

I found the problem this. Make sure the save .cfa and .pek media cache files next to original media file when possible is checked i goes it can't find the files if it not next to the originals. this is in the Media cache preference

I just deleted and reset the workspaces and still no waveforms on audio files unless they are zoomed in. also older audio files in the project of the same type still show a waveform. It looks like only the newer files that I'm importing in will not show the waveform

I trashed everything prefs too. Nothing has changed. They will show up on my timeline but if i move the clip they disappear unless I zoom in. Nothing changed on my computer they actually went away in a middle of a project I was editing. They just blanked out and never came back. i'm running a mac with high sierra.

Having the same problem. I trashed all my cashe , prefs, peks. and that got them to show on the timeline. But the waveforms will only show if they are zoomed in on the source monitor. If I take that same audio marry black to it so now it is a video clip I see the whole waveform without having to zoom in.

In the common folder I see .ims files, my local drive in the media cache folder has .mcdb and the media cache files folder has .mpg index, .cfa files

The presets bin in the effects panel. Being able to delete unused default effects just makes our desktops cleaner. Also in the export settings it would be nice just to have a favorite star so we don't have to search through all the different formats when exporting because we really most of us just use 2 or 3.

I setup my cashe files to be saved on my local raid drive /Volumes/Hi-Speed Scratch Cache/ADOBE CACHE FILES/Media Cache Files but I'm also finding them in the common folder on my network drive /Users/jbellomo/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Media Cache Files. Why are they being saved to this common area?

The attitude of AE users and Adobe is one of the reasons why people find this software annoying. Instead of being more receptive to something that can be fixed, instead it's just go an use some other software your not good enough to use AE. Attitude like that just turns people away, then where will your software be. One of the reasons I hate asking anything is because of this snobbery. Yes there is major flaws in the keyboard shortcut menu , so instead of telling the guy to leave why don't you try and get it fixed. Also a side note AE media browser docent work either.

I tried your suggestion didn't work. I tried deleting everything they just keep coming back. Even when i created my own workspaces and saved them when I rebooted I had mine plus the default workspaces. It's like a virus that won't go away.

My workspace bar reverts to default. I keep deleting the Learning workspace and it keeps returning overtime I open the project.
