thanks, what's interesting is my PC that I got custom built can handle 5 warp stabilizer effects, 4 lumetri color effects all on one clip. I have an 8GB Graphics Card. I can even throw 4 other clips in the sequence as mutlicam all with these effects stacked and it never slows down. This is all with AVCHD footage.

 Can you explain this persons second post? http://www.kenstone.net/discussions/read.php?3,38384 The person in the second post is saying if you add an effect, title etc to avchd you lose quality. I've never had this happen. What is this person talking about? Is this strictly a Final Cut problem and not a premiere problem?

 Why would transcoding make the footage worse?? Another article I can't seem to find right now mentioned avchd had color artifacts when color correcting, such as banding and blocking with added noise.

thanks, Here's a question. Can I load the footage from my SDHC card into Prelude and select in and out points then rename the .mts files to something I want then import into Premiere? I don't like how the .mts files are named with random numbers and If I import the whole SDHC card into Premiere I sometimes have footage I don't need on my hard drive.

Hello, I just got a windows 10 PC. It has a Xeon Processor, 16GB of Ram, Quardom4000 Graphics Card with 8GB of Video Memory. Is there any point to transcoding AVCHD footage with this type of PC? This thing is wicked fast but I read that it's still recommended to transcode because Cineform is easier on faster machines and if you use prelude you can rename files and organize your files easier if you transcode. Is there really any difference between AVCHD and Cineform? I'm also a little stumped because I read there is a 129 dollar version of Cineform and wondering if that's any better than the free codec that comes with Premiere? Thanks, Bryce

but the scopes themselves aren't even showing the correct data. Let me give you an example. I have Lumetri color disabled in the effect controls. This is a piece of video I was given to edit. The face is blown out. This was just a clip that I pulled in as the camera operator was dialing in the correct exposure. So it wont' be part of a video but clearly the scopes are wrong. That face has to be over 100 IRE right?

it's called "Lut Buddy" if so I'm not seeing it. Also why is it that I can say make the scopes go over 100 IRE with the brightness contrast effect but in Lumetri if I move the exposure slider all the way up the luma scope doesn't go above 100 IRE it just crushes it? also, Is it supposed to be 100IRE I aim for now or is HD 110?

no the lut was applied in the basic section. I do have scope I just didn't show that in the screenshot. Here is what I have with each screenshot. I labeled the Exported Lut as test.cube As you can see the creative section has no preset assigned but the basic section has my test.cube loaded as a lut yet the curves aren't affected as they were when I saved it. This time it's different than before. It's no longer green which it was in my previous screenshot with the test lut loaded.

I figured out how to save a Cube. When I import it the Curves section isn't the same as when I exported it. Is the Curves section supposed to be altered to what it was? This is what the curves panel looks like after I imported the cube preset. It just reverts to default settings when i actually exported the cube as the curve white rolled off. Also, Turning on High Dynamic Range which turns off the luts seems to fix the limitation as well. s

ah, Yes, I did misunderstand previously. I have a tendency to skip sections of what I'm reading due to my add. Still a struggle. I think I understand what you are saying better. How do I find out if I have footage above 99 or below 1? is that what the luma scope shows me? If so then I have a few clips here and there with the overall brights at 101 or sometimes 102 IRE but others are around 95 which I try to keep it to. My blacks are usually at 5 or just touching 0 but I've never had any clips below 0 if that's what you are referring to. What do you recommend I have in the effects chain before Lumetri? Does it matter or is just anything such as fast color corrector or Curves plug in. I have a third party curves plug in I use sometimes as well.

I'm very confused after watching this video. I don't have any of the problems described in this video. Anyone else having the same issues as this person in the video? Perhaps maybe it's the codec he's using? He's saying the scopes don't accurately represent what he does in Lumetri even though my AVCHD does.

I found a workaround. I alt clicked on the audio track and chose render and replace. It rendered the audio and the waveform then appeard. have no clue why it won't appear on it's own. Reimporting the clip clip didn't work either. I even created a brand new project and imported the clip. No waveform. This is only from the canon xa10 Footage

Did that. Same problem. Also tried a new project. i also just filmed something on my canon xa10 today. That won't generate a waveform audio either. It seems to be only with this camera even though it worked before I updated to the 2017 version of premiere

Okay sorry, im on an iMac i7 processor. El Capitan. It seems to be happening with only one camera. Which makes no sense cause it used to always work before until I updated to premiere pro cc 2017. It's a canon xa10. Avchd footage. No audio waveform is generated. However footage shot on my canon xa25 is fine and that's in avchd.

My clips won't link together even though it says they are linked. I've tried creating a new project and importing the project and the same problem happens. I also have one clip that won't conform waveforms even though there is audio on that channel.

I edited a video on a mac with adobe premiere pro. It's in pro res format. I am collaborating with someone on the project and this other person wants to load my project on windows 10. The project opens but it gives an error about how prores isn't supported. I believe it should work. What can I do?

Lets say I render and replace a few clips in Premiere. When I go to export the video when I'm done editing how do I export it so the original native media is part of the export and not the clip that I rendered and replace?
