Hello, The cameras I use are 8 bit and I'm looking for the 8 bit cineform codec to download. Cineform website lists 8 bit versions but I don't see them in media encoder. How do I get them? I would only be wanting the 8 bit versions for proxy files . Thanks,

This is strange. The LUTS issue is fixed in premiere 2019. Very odd. Still can’t get the adjustment layer thing to work.

they should be where they are when I installed premeire I did not move them. I never have. I just select the premade ones built into lumetri creative tab etc

I'm using the LUTS from the basic tab and then they go away one by one it seems after I use them once and save and then quit the program. Still having the issue with the Adjustment layer thing. I looked at it again and it creates this weird flash like thing when the transitions happen when there is an adjustment layer but the same color lumetri applied directly to the two clips themselves don't do this.

Hello, I'm currently using version 2018 CC. I for some reason can't seem to apply an adjustment layer for color with lumetri panel if there are fades on clips. What happens is the adjustment layer will not show the color effect when the clips below it transition. Meaning once the clip starts to transition with a cross dissolve etc the adjustment layer above any of those clips will cross dissolve but without the color adjust applied. As soon as the cross dissolve is finished the adjustment layer kicks back in. If I apply the same lumetri color effect to the two clips that are cross dissolved together the color works fine. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a way to use an adjustment layer and have it recognize cross fades? Another issue I'm having is when I apply a preset LUT. I can apply it fine but almost every time after I save the project and reopen it another time the applied LUT that should be there is not. Like it's not even in the list anymore.

It's not the camera because I've had the camera for 4 years and it didn't used to do this until the 2017 CC update came out and ever since it's had the lines.

Hello, Is there anyway to upload my videos that are in HD and 4K from my iPhone to LR CC then have it get sent to my computer hard drive and imported into LR Classic? I want to send all my videos to google photos using the free plan but want to keep the original quality files on my computer. Also is there anyway to auto backup my camera roll of my iPhone without opening Lightroom CC everytime and can I upload while on Cellular. Thanks, Bryce

Hello all, Figured I would post my new workflow as it's working really great. Here is what I do to orgnaize and edit my footage. I film everything in h264 codec. I then load them into prelude and ingest them and rename the files and put them in their own folders on my HDD hard drive. Then I go back and I use MPEG Streamclip to trim any clips or make news entirely. I have tested this and trimming or saving new clips does not reduce the quality of the h264 native media. I only do this on clips that are really long and that I know a chunk has to be removed that I would never need to use. This saves space on my HDD. I then have setup a Proxy preset to create Proxy files of my footage as Cineform quality 1 in an SD format with the stretch size selected to fill the screen. This is a very small file size and I put these Proxy files on my SSD all my native media is stored on my HDD. I chose to go with SD as proxy since it is low in file size. Plus I can always turn on and off the proxy to see the original quality when I need to. This new workflow has been working for for the last two weeks and I'm quite proud.

I understand that Transcoding will not magically make my footage any better for color grading but I just read a new thing and it's puzzling me. I read that if I were to use native media such as H264 and export that out to say MPG2 the quality is much worse and rather I should transcode all my native fotoage to Cineform beacuse when you export in Premiere with Cineform clips in the timeline the MPG2 file is higher quality. Is this true or is this bogus? It's even saying a Youtube Upload will be better higher quality if you transcode to Cineform rather than using the native footage in your timeline to begin with. I did some tests and I don't notice a difference.

I do organize with metadata create sub clips for important clips but what I really wanted to know was if it would ever happen that two clips could be named 001.mp4 and if that would somehow cause a problem if they were in two different folders of two cards on the same drive.

Hello, If I have a folder I named B-Roll and put a bunch of clips in that folder which originally are named 001 etc Would another 0001.mp4 clip that I stick in a different folder cause problems or can I have as many clips with their native numbering names in their own unique folders without any issues? Just wondering if I have to rename every clip to a different name or not? If I didn't that would save me tremendous time when importing clips to edit. Thanks,

no it's progressive. I even double checked the sequence. Old projects do the glitch that didn't used to and those sequences have not been changed. Even starting a new project does the same thing. I even drag and drop a video file into a timeline and it says keep sequence settings or change and I select change so that it matches the video files and the sequence settings and clips both say Progressive.

I sure hope someone can can help me as this is driving me crazy! Just recently when I enter full screen either by the keyboard shortcut ctrl and ~ or send full screen to another monitor there is a weird glitch. Lines will show up whenever the camera pans up down left right. This does not happen when the program monitor is in normal view. Only happens in full screen playback. It does not happen when I play the original media files in VLC player nor does it happen if I export part of the timeline and play that in VLC player. I have updated my graphics card to the latest driver, I have the latest version of Windows. Still the glitch remains. I chatted with an adobe tech support person and they remoted into my computer and were unable to see the glitch on their end even though it happens on my end. Do you know what is causing this? It does this in version 2018 and 2017 but this didn't used to do this until about 4 weeks ago. I've tried making proxy files as well and that won't fix it. My graphics card is a quadro m4000 which is an 8GB Video Ram graphic card and should be way more than enough to work as it did all this time up until now and I've been using adobe for about 3 years so I've used this card for a while. I even tried disabling the graphic card in premiere and reverting to mecury playback engine and it's still the same glitch so I don't think it's graphic card related but it's odd that adobe tech support person couldn't see it on their end when they shared my screen. If someone want's me to make a screencast of my screen I can do that and upload a video file since I'm the only one that can apparently see it. This does not happen if I upload the files to YouTube so it's definitely something on my end.

Hello, I borrowed an uncompressed RAW camera from a friend and I was trying to edit the files which are very large by the way and thus wouldn't play back without dropping frames. I tried creating proxy files out of cineform. I could edit once I had the proxy files but then the real problem came when I went to burn an effect into a clip which I've done many times with mp4 footage on my camera. To do this I have exported a section in my time line as a new cineform high quality level 5 clip. However when I do this with the timeline of raw files it reduces the quality and it's not longer treating said clip as uncompressed raw so the color adjustments etc aren't the same. How do real studios do this? Surely there must be way to transcode clips of uncompressed raw while keeping the raw format uncompressed but editable on a machine right?

Hello, I have the latest premiere pro 2018 version installed and when I toggle full screen by using ctrl and ~ the playback shows weird flickering lines. This only happens in full screen playback in premiere only. If I just play from program monitor without full screen the flickering lines isn't there. If I export the video and play it in full screen in windows media player there are no flicker lines and there is no issue playing the native media in full screen in windows media player either. This is all on the same monitor display as well. What is causing this? I tried deleting my cache, restarting the computer, disabling CUDA and playing from the mercury playback engine and even tried proxy files in cineform. Same issue. I have 16GB of ram and my Graphics Card is 8GB of Ram. It didn't use to do this until just recently.

choosing progressive makes it worse than it was with lower field selected. Here are the default settings I used initially when I transcoded the clip.

well this is odd. I can't seem to find cineform listed in the sequence settings anywhere. Also when I make a new project and drop the cineform clip into the timeline it asks me to change the settings to match the sequence. When I do it creates a sequence with mpeg i frame rather than cineform.

it's the same resolution. Double checked. Here is a video screenshot of me going from the transcoded clip to native and you will see the minor detail differences as I switch back and forth. Particularly by the guys finger with his ring on it. The sharpness comes back when I turn off the top clip which is the cineform clip which is quality setting 4. If I maximize the preview window in premiere of the program window to 400 percent and have the transcoded clip above the native .mp4 clip the cineform clip is actually slightly reduced. Like the hand of someone will be more blurry than the native clip. I can notice this by using pressing the eye viewer button to bounce back and forth between the two video tracks. Is this normal? I have transcoded a .mp4 native clip to Cineform quality 4 which is filmscan21and it's slightly blurry if you zoom in at 400 percent compared the native clip. If I transcode to cineform 5 which is the highest quality and maximum setting it does not cause any form of blur. Is this supposed to happen? If Cineform retains quality why would it be slightly reduced after transcoding? my .mp4 native clips are in 1080p HD and my cineform settings are 10 bit at quality 4 If it's normal for the clips to be slightly reduced then why would I ever want to transcode?
