Tom, nothing seems to work. I've tried all the work arounds... nothing. And, there is no gear icon to click. All I see when I move the mouse, is a hand icon that will do nothing but move around the workspace. I recently updated the beta version. Still the same problem. Seems to have started after an update weeks ago.

Yes. I tried to run the install again and nothing. I did find in this folder: Users\(user name)\AppData\roaming\adobe\logtransport2\logs... 4 instances of the following. ulog_CS5_Dreamweaver CS5_67e6b2d

After the CD install failed with the "Installer failed to initialize" ewrror I contacted support and they gave me a download link... same error message.

I am trying to install my Dreamweaver CS5, and I get the "Installer failed to initialize" error message. I followed the link for analysis of the installer, but could not open the .mlf file. I contacted Adobe support and they gave me a link to download the software, but I still get the same error message. I am using win 8.1
