Update: I'm still having this issue in v25 when auto-transciption is enabled. Turning off transcription makes "fit to fill" and 4-point editing dialogue box options available again, but when I'm text-based editing and want to use "fit to fill" I must turn off transcribe features to activate the 4 point edit. Not critical, just annoying.

Kudos to the Adobe team for offering even better performance for H264. I'm also experiencing better performance for even more natively suppported codecs = Yay! I don't see this listed as an official "new feature" but I swear I'm now getting native performance for some Sony Camera footage that performs almost as well as native R3D (when dropped raw into a sequence)! I get so excited when new camera formats are added to natively supported codec list (Nerd alert, haha)! The list hasn't been updated for a little while, but some of us "try it in the timeline" before transcoding anyway and I'm stoked to repoert I rarely need to use Proxy workflows anymore. BTW -- I'm still not seing a fix for the issue that disables 4-point editing feature (Fit to Fill dialogue to ignore out/in point) when auto-transcription is enabled. Thanks for the update notice Kevin : )

Yes! This is helpful. I think it should be on by default.

Water has just been introduced to Arrakis, forming a desert oasis mirage surrounded by dunes with a strange animal drinking from a pool of water. Pool of water reflects the sky at sunset with unknown Constellations beginning to Twinkle in the dusk light. Cinematic, high resolution, in the style of The 70 mm film version of Lawrence of Arabia.

Yes! This seems like a great solution: add the ability for editors to choose to disable auto-track generation. When inserting clips we could choose to enable it -- but most savvy editors know how to adjust source targeting for inserts and will simply disable this feature permanently. Because this topic/request continues to be brought up, for years and years, and is supported by community experts taking time to write articles explaining professional reasons behind continued concern, this edit feature begs Adobe's attention for further review. Premiere editors have the choice to "keep focus on Timeline when performing inserts and overwrites". Could there be a preference check-box to "override creation of auto-generated tracks when..." option added to the next update? There would be much appreciation for this option! 🙏🏼

I am having this issue too, using Premiere 24.6.1 (build 2) on Apple M3 Max. I've also tried creating a brand new project, recutting in the clip, resetting all 4 points, checking durations, replacing the proxy clip with full res, etc. etc. No other effects on timeline clip. You are not crazy -- 'fit to fill" is not available (grey) in Fit Clip dialogue box!

Alexis this is fantastic - extremely helpful - thank you! I'm excited about these important changes that "auto detect" formats, perform analysis for us and detect/display proper color space fir my many different clip types. How exciting! I suspect significant changes like these require some time to finesse and perfect the code, so I look forward to hearing what professionals here encounter while playing with the public beta. 8)
