Just a follow-up: I have spend this morning with three separate adobe support agents trying to get Dimension 4 to work. They could not help me and in the proces they changed dozens of low-level system settings (like allowing root access to my computer, adding write permissions to Everyone to various system folders like Library, …). After the screensharing got reset, they could not restore the settings so I spent the rest of the day trying to fix things so my Mac is secure again. I don't think I suceeded fully and am planning a full and utterly painful re-install :(. I have reproduced the same issue on my Win 11 machine, so it is a Dimension problem, not my Mac problem. I would not recommend working with Adobe support. Hopefully someone from product team will work on this and I can finally update to version 4.

I am really excited to try Dimension v4, but it consistently fails to import dn file with a fairly simple model (model purchased on Adobe Stock with psd decals on it). Attached error log as per recommendation shown in app and here is a link for the imported file: https://shared-assets.adobe.com/link/c617fd1d-dcf1-430a-45d4-0cab3f956119 I am on M1 Mac Sonoma. Thanks for the notification, I have just updated to the new version and it is working fine… I could not find Dimension release notes (only this outdated article: https://helpx.adobe.com/dimension/using/whats-new.html). Is Dimension still fully supported? Where can one find complete release notes? @AEllard ?

Thank you for your support people! As a matter of fact, last release on Dimension on Mac is broken – people cannot import any models (from Adobe Stock or event from Dimension library, see https://community.adobe.com/t5/dimension-discussions/unable-to-import-model-error/td-p/13612249). Clearly the situation does not improve, rather the opposite. Adobe – you really need to improve your game. There is competition out there, you know? Not a big one, not a smooth one. But going for Affinity, DaVinci Resolve, Blender, Sketch and Logic Pro pretty much gives you all you need. And while it would hurt, the price difference is significant.

I agree… and we should keep the pressure up. No new Dimension releases show clearly the promise to keep it alive is a lie. 😞

User Story: As a Photoshop for iPad user I want to be able to download multiple files/folders for offline use, so that I dont have to download them one-by-one for field (offline) work. I stack and auto-blend product photos on my Mac. Retouching is however much more plesant on an iPad so I made a quick Batch Action, that save copies as Cloud documents. On an iPad I often want to work offline or with a weak connection (like in a café). Downloading full-res photoshop files over LTE is expensive and time-consuming because of large file size and therefore not useful for standard workflow. That is why I download files onto the iPad on my fast office Wifi before venturing out. This however is currently only possible one-by-one, which is very time-consuming. Including feature to make multiple cloud files/folders available offline would speed-up my workflow greatly simplifiyng adoption of cloud documents.

Yes, I fully agree with the article. Dimension has become one of the reason it makes sense for designer to pay a subscription. Real updates to the big three PS, AI and ID are not really happening, because frankly there is not that much to improve. Yes, it it cool to mask and retouch images on an iPad, but we could do without it as we had before. What Dimension brought was an actuall market advantage to those of us paying for CC. We could deliver beautiful 3D renders to our clients thinking yes, subscription makes sense. Those stuck on CS6 could not do that. I don't think there is anyone here believing that you intend to support both Dimension and Stager. It does not make any sense. Please, please re-think your decision. Give us Stager in CC, kill Dimension. And motivate us to go for the full 3D suite. Because we might, because 3D really is getting more and more important.
