Can we get noise reduction for video in Premiere Pro? Preferably GPU accelerated. Neat video is slow and crashes.

Hi, Yes I'm still experienceing it in 25.1 The issue goes away when I change my export settings to Software Encoding. Haven't been able to use hardware encoding for months now.

Rendering with software encoding fixes the issue, although still slow. Turning off hardware decoding in properties does nothing. The issue is on export only. Switching to CBR or 2 pass only allows software encoding on my system anyway, so it also resolves it becasue it doesnt use hardware encoding. Im using an M1 Max Macbook Pro. Issues only started after updating to Sequoia a few weeks back.

Exports using hardware encoding are very slow, and cause this glitch throughout the video. Happened since updating to Sequoia. Have just installed latest version of premiere and issue is still happening.

Can we get colour space tagging on export too? So we can use 1-2-1 tag when using rec709 2.4 gamma.

Even the reference modes are difficult to work with. The gamma settings dont actually change the gamma at all when creating custom presets. I believe the HDTV preset is designed to work on top of colorsync, as it just applies a 1.22 system gamma to the whole display. So in final cut and quicktime it looks correct, because 1.96 x 1.22 is roughly 2.4 gamma. So in premiere or resolve you still need to use a viewer gamma of 1.96 or rec709-A to use underneath the reference mode to make it correct for 2.4 😴

The colour picker tool doesnt read the viewer gamma, so when creating a colour matte to fill the background of a graphic, I can't match the colours without turning DCM off.

Can we get a log exposure and temperature/tint sliders BEFORE the first input lut in Lumetri ? This way we can adjust the exposure before any luts, and still use all the basic tools after and creative luts. Currently Im using the creative lut as the input lut, so exposure can be adjusted before, then having to apply a second lumetri to adjust all the basic controls after.

Can we get a gain control on the audio waveform similar to the new crossfade control? The same as the one already in adobe audition. Currently we can only turn up audio gain by pressing gain and dialing in a db value, or by turning up the volume level which havens post effects and doesnt show on the waveform. Having to round trip to audition to this at the moment.

Its a macbook pro m1 max. Using the default icc. It doesnt work well with calibration since they added the display reference modes, which also seem to complicate things and work on top of colour management. I have tried to calibrate to 2.2 with the new Calibrite HL but not sure if i trust the results, or even what setting i should use.

Is there any chance of getting and SRGB tone curve option? I feel like 1.96 is too bright, and the 2.2 option looks correct but crushes blacks too much compared to what I see on mobile devices. Would keeping the gamma as SRGB avoid the black crush? In the DCM help guide it states - * Shadow details are lost because sRGB encoding in the shadows don’t have the fine granularity of the Rec. 709 shadows. In an 8-bit signal, the 20 lowest Rec. 709 codes are crunched into the 7 lowest sRGB codes. For 10 bit, the 78 lowest Rec. 709 code values are crushed into the 28 lowest sRGB values.

Could we get an option to auto tone map superwhites? Footage from Sony A7Siii (S-Cinetone, Cine4 etc) looks blown out on import and have to bring whites down on each clip.

Thanks for adding it. Unfortunately the 2.2 setting still crushes black details on my mac, using the default icc, same as the 2.4 setting did. Confirmed this by adding colour bars, and also using a decklink to my LG CX oled tv. Only setting that is close seems to be the 1.96 setting. The 1.96 setting still has some black crush when compared to the exported bars and tone viewed in quicktime but it is less noticable than the other settings due to the raised gamma. I have attached a screenshot, and raised the blacks to exaggerate the diference. In the DCM help guide it says that some black detail may be lost due to not being able to show rec709 on an srgb display, but quicktime seems to be able to show the details.

Thanks, I think that could be the best option as videos will only be .2 washed out in quicktime, and .2 too dark for broadcast (and correct on srgb monitors and phones). Whereas videos graded on 1.96 would be .4 too dark on broadcast, and graded on 2.4 would be washed out by .4. If that makes sense.

I think a 2.2/srgb option would be a good middle ground between broadcast and quicktime.

Premiere with DCM off looks the same as vlc because vlc doesnt read the tags either. Quicktime does read them but assumes 1.1.1 means a gamma of 1.95. Premiere exports with 1.1.1 tags, so with this new setting (display colour management on and viewer gamma at 1.96) it does now match quicktime & youtube!

Personally i'd like to just set it for all future projects. Because I found the 2.4 setting to crush all black detail on my macs so it's never been useful for me, if I did anything for broadcast I always used a decklink and reference monitor. So I would most likely always leave this on for web work which is the majority of my business.

Finally! Been waiting around 6 years for this feature (Since apple introduced P3 displays) Seems to be working great so far. Had a few crashes on my latest project, so cant wait until this is released in the main app! Also noticed I have to change it every time I open an old project. Presume this is so colours dont seem off on older projects, but would be good to be able to set and forget.

Amazing news! I like the idea that you can select the gamma yourself, as 2.2 would be a good middle ground between broadcast and apple. Viewer gamma sounds good!

I would like there to be an option for mac users to have a quicktime version of display color management to match quicktime, youtube, fcp x and resolves rec709-a. Or to set the timeline to rec709-A instead of 2.4 I know this isnt technically correct and wont match a broadcast monitor, and will look darker outside of the apple system, but it would be good to have an option for creators instead of using the export compensation lut. (Sorry Neil) In resolve there are 3 options to check (Use mac display profile, read all rec709 clipsas rec709-A, and set timeline/export to rec709-A) Ideally this would be all done with one button in the preferences and could be set once instead of needing to set it for each project.

You've been replying that same excuse for years. Everyone gets the difference between the 2.4 and 1.96 gamma and quicktimes problems. The display colour management option doesnt work correctly, ive used windows systems, and calibrated displays with an i/o box, and the display colour management doesnt match the results on a mac, it crushes the shadows. And even if it may not be technically correct, it would be good to give users the option. Resolve has an option to 'Use mac display colour profile' and FCP displays it this way using colorsync, so it would be nice to have a CHOICE if we want to work this way. And I have edited videos using FCPX and the colours looked fine after on my LG Oled TV, but premiere never seems to match. I have an external monitor and a computer for when i want to get colours right.
