I will say I'm the product manager for Dimension, Stager, and Substance 3D Viewer. The way that the DPI/PPI setting worked in Dimension and Stager is the way I described it and that Alan described it. If you had a Dimension document of 1000 pixels @ 72 DPI you would get a Photoshop document of 1000 pixels @ 13.8 inches.
If you had a Dimension document of 1000 pixels @ 300 DPI you would get a Photoshop document of 1000 pixels @ 3.3 inches.
Unless you're opening it in some different way, that's just the way the feature was built in Dimension/Stager. It did not affect the number of pixels, it changed the interpretation of those pixels (density per inch/unit) within Photoshop and other apps. I acknowledge that the missing feature is tedious and requires manual input. We'll see if we can rectify that with our new programs and bring it back!

The post is about a workaround because Dimension and Stager no longer have the resolution PPI settings in the UX. You can do the calculation manually and just set the pixels you need. IE: If you want 10" x 10" @ 240 DPI set the pixel size of the render to 2400 x 2400 pixels. When you import the render to Photoshop it may default to 72 DPI which would be a 33.3" x 33.3" document.
But if you change the DPI to 240 it will use the same pixel data and just adjust the size down to 10" x 10".

We have some foundational MaterialX workings in place but it's not officially fully supported and therefore not listed in our support page. In the future we expect to support more general MaterialX graphs but no time range on that.

If you use a background image and Match Image to generate lighting there is no way to jump back to the previous lighting outside of the undo history stack. Once you save and close the document, you'd have to remove the lighting by adding new lighting in.

You can close the image with the "X" icon in the upper-right of the app or use the escape key. That will return you to the canvas working mode.

You can sell any content that you create, but you cannot resell something that uses any content you did not create or have license rights to. The in-app content is provided free for you to use in your own projects, not for you to sell. Examples: You can open Stager, load a custom model, apply custom materials, and then sell that Stager scene. You cannot open Stager, load one of the default models, and then sell that Stager scene. You cannot open Stager, load a custom model, apply a default material from Stager, and then sell that Stager scene. You can sell Stager scenes, but all content in it should be your own original content or content you have redistribution and resell rights for.

Hi @Oxsmose it may be helpful if you share a screenshot or two because I'm not sure which effect you're trying to disable.
When you disable the guide object status it will turn back into a standard rendered object. If you're talking about the shadow catching effect, you can turn on/off the shadow catching effect from either the contextual tool bar or the viewport overlay management panel.
If you don't see the context bar you can enable it in the menus under Window > Contextual task bar. Click on "Guide visibility" button and then "Disable shadow catching".
Or in the overlay manager: In the viewport, go to the top-right and click on the eyeball icon to manage the visibility and status of viewport items. Disable guide shadow catching.
If it's a different effect you're looking for please let me know some more details with screenshots and we'll try to help!

Hi @stuart_1308 - Spin spin!
Spinning cube with 3D text
I was able to achieve this by putting them into a group and then spinning the group itself. Here's the scene panel where you can see the box and the text are inside a group.
And here's the group properties where you can see the animation is applied to the group.

Hi @Talal30652523lktc - Jeanette from Adobe here. I took a deeper look at your logs and I don't see any errors from the app itself saying it's running into a specific issue. As Ares said, since your device is from 2016 it's out of our support policy range (our rendering team generally sets a 7 year policy for GPU support). When you render with the "Render Image" option it uses the CPU, while the viewport and canvas experience is defaults to use the GPU all the time to keep it as speedy as possible. That's why you're seeing a final render work, but nothing in the interactive and Photoshop paths. In the future we hope to expose some controls to let you choose to use your CPU all the time, in the case you want to keep your GPU free for another app or like this case your GPU isn't compatible in some way.

This isn't supported today, unfortunately. You'd have to merge the objects in a 3D tool, or apply a graphic to each panel. Definitely understand this as a request though!

Stager does not have wireframe mode. The closest thing would be to temporarily apply another material like a transparent one. Toggling the visibility in the scene panel on/off quickly may also be a good proxy.

The first time you activate ray tracing it may take a few minutes to get shaders ready. If you wait a few minutes does it begin working? If not, do you get the hang every time or does subsequent renders begin working faster?

Hi @Magic Dream ! This si the first report we've heard like this. Can you please share your hardware details (device, drivers) and also if possible share your application log?
Start Substance 3D Viewer app
Load a 3D object
Turn on raytracing
Turn off raytracing
Go to the menu Help > Open log folder
Get the latest log from the datestamp located in that folder
Share that log with the team
Thanks!

Hi @JM Le Goff ! You should be able to always access and edit materials data. That should be showing all the available properties, letting you change values, and change and replace images. If you don't see some of those options sometimes, then that would be a bug. If you have any sample files that can reproduce it please file a bug ticket in the bugs category and we'll evaluate!

Hello Beta Testers, This week we announced the release of Substance 3D Viewer (Beta) - a new desktop app that lets you view and customize 3D objects. Along with the standalone app there's an integration directly in Photoshop (Beta) where you can now place 3D objects into Photoshop documents as Smart Objects and then edit them in Substance 3D Viewer.
Check out this tutorial to get started.
You can now add 3D objects to Photoshop (Beta). Substance 3D Viewer will provide a render of the object and then the 3D file is embedded in your document as a Smart Object layer.
Double click the layer icon or use the properties panel "Edit Content" action to edit the Smart Object in Substance 3D Viewer (Beta). You can change the view of the object, adjust the materials and colors of different parts, and change the lighting, shadows, and reflections.

When you're done use the "To Photoshop" button to easily send your edits back to Photoshop and update the embedded 3D file! Iterate or send the file to others, incorporate your 3D object like any other layer in your 2D designs with masks, adjustments, and other effects.

For more discussion, to request features, or report issues you can check out our Substance 3 Viewer (Beta) dedicated community forums.
Our documentation and tutorials on HelpX can be a useful resource for learning what the app is capable of and specifics of what is supported.
