I'm sorry about that. You're having an issue with running Adobe dimension and Sequoia and on an Intel machine.. I forgot what is your original issue but I remember from reading that you have an Intel machine but you should use an M1 or M2 or M3 or M4 Mac as I have verified earlier with the Adobe dimension, Tech Support that dimension is compatible with sequoia, but I believe it needs to be a silicone chip in order for it to run properly.. check this link from Adobe upon releasing 4.0 https://www.adobeprerelease.com/beta/35E7AEFC-AACE-41EB-9CB9-80B4DD634FD0# I have a Mac Studi M1, I do not have any issues, but maybe if I created an older project created in an older version of Dn might not load up. I have posted this in the past, if you are looking to work in a project from a previous version, open it in Adobe Photoshop version 22.2.0 and save back. It has all the 3D tools, it has the last fully functional 3D tools.

a Bug when updating to illustrator v 2.9.2.1 and Photoshop Today 1.15.2025 After updating illustrator and Photoshop, recent files when previewed in icon view will say 1 Year, but if you switch to List view they will be correct. I wasted one hour of my time with Adobr Tech this morning trying to convince them that the issue is not in my computer or my copy, the issue is their update. So I'm posting this here hopefully others will let me know if they have the same issue. I think the app is confused if it was 2024 it will tell you one year ago no matter what even if the file was open in December or November all the way back to January.. Check the 2 attachements.

OK, I think I have a solution or maybe a workaround if you have a copy of Photoshop version 22.2.0 that is the last fully functional 3-D tools It has. Export your Design layer from Render in Dimension 4.1. using the PSD format, then open in that version of Photoshop, so you can edit all separated layers. But I think you shoud explore these new tools in Dn 4.1, you might be able to fix your issue, just select Environment here you can control Ground - Background - Lights. Select lights and click on the Plus icon +, it will creat a circular icon next to it, on the left side, select that and move your cursor to the canvas anywhere you want the light to be controlled, you can adujst, the color, the intensity, the rotation, the height, the size, the shape and the hotspot. just keep playing around with it. It's really cool.

How are you placing the gradient, is it created in illustrator? I see you have a PNG, try using .ai format, Adobe illustrator. I did a test, I applies Zero opacity to a greadient created in illustrator, the one on the left is the PNG and the right is illutrator native file .ai. the cube was a model from Dn here ar esome notes to check This issue often occurs in Adobe Dimension due to how the program handles gradients and transparency in shadows. Here’s how you can address it: Steps to Fix the Gradient Shadow in Adobe Dimension 1.Check the Shadow Opacity: •In the “Properties” panel, ensure that the shadow opacity is set to 100% and that the gradient fade is applied correctly. If the shadow fades to gray, it may be blending with a background or environment color. 2.Adjust the Environment Lighting: •Shadows in Dimension can pick up colors from the environment lighting. Go to the Environment tab in the “Scene” panel and reduce the intensity or color saturation of the lighting. This ensures the shadow remains neutral. 3.Use Transparent Background for Post-Processing: •Sometimes, the issue lies in Dimension’s rendering. Export your scene with a transparent background by enabling PNG Export with Transparency in the Render tab. •You can then refine the shadow in Photoshop using a gradient mask to achieve a clean fade-out. 4.Set Shadow Color to Pure Black: •Ensure that the shadow color is set to black in the Material Properties or Light Properties. If it’s picking up colors from elsewhere, it may appear as a grayish nebula. 5.Increase Shadow Blur: •In the Light Properties, increase the shadow blur to make the shadow transition smoother and avoid harsh edges that might look like a gray overlay. 6.Render in Higher Quality: •In the render settings, choose a higher-quality render option. Low-quality previews can make shadows look inconsistent. 7.Switch to Custom Background Colors: •If you’re using a custom background, make sure the color matches the shadow fade. If the background is white or bright, the shadow may appear gray instead of fading naturally. If the issue persists, you might need to composite the shadow externally (e.g., in Photoshop), as Adobe Dimension has limitations when it comes to advanced shadow rendering.

I think I have solved your problem forever. I opened the file you send in We tranfer and was not able to open in DN, I got the same message you did. So I opened my secnd copy of Photoshop 2021 version 22.20, it is Adobe's last fully functional 3d tools. then select the 3D from menu, navigate to your .obj file, onpen then save back to .obj and voila you can now work in Dn. You have to downlaod the Photoshop 22.21 v22.20. Good luck, if you cant, then I can email you the converted file, but send me your email.

Your situation seems isolated, I believe it's your 2019 Mac Pro although Apple confirms that you can run Sequoia on it, but you might encounter some issues.. Should look into the Mac Mini M4, if you. Already have a monitor, you will be good to go. Yes, macOS Sequoia is compatible with some Intel-based Mac models, but not all features are available: Compatible models macOS Sequoia is compatible with the following Intel-based Mac models: I hope this helps you. I just saw the update on Adobe CC, Did not want to venturei nstalling it yet. But on https://helpx.adobe.com/dimension/common-issues/stager-viewport-is-blank.html there are few remarks regarding a Blank page and other common issues. I'm waiting for Adobe tech to call me back, I would like them to tell me what is on this new update 4.1, they mention "improved Match Image lighting and general enhancement and other bug fixes." so I want to know what are those bug fixes. I will report back once I get connected. it has been 4 attempts so far within 10 minutes, what a waste of time.

I contacted Adobe tech today to check on few other bugs I reported since 4.0 was released, and I mentioned the one about the measuring tool as well the lock icon on the layers - you can't tell if they are locked or unlocked- after a long discussion. The tech rep told me in two weeks. There will be 4.0.6 with bug fixes, and he said not to upgrade to sequoia because they are working off some of the Bugs. I don't know whether I should believe that or not but that's what they told me. Not sure why they are skipping 4.0.5 ?

Unlike other Adobe apps you can have two on your desktop at the same time. it is too bad that the Adobe tech is not noting these bugs that we are reporting here, I have reported the lock icon on each layer you can't tell if it's on or off they need to be an icon to show you a lock is unlocked, II called for that and nothing happened so far.

Well, that's interesting to know I spent over an hour speaking with David from Adobe tech and he was kind enough to check the information for me and I sent him an email with the link that you have provided me with and exactly what I thought that information pertains to Adobe Substance Stager. Somebody made a mistake and posted it for Adobe Dimension. In this link for Adobe help for Substance Stager, they had the exact duplicate instructions for physical light. Here's the link you can see for yourse lfhttps://helpx.adobe.com/substance-3d-stager/objects/physical-lights.html. But I did find out in dimension you can actually click on the icon on the left of the + icon and it says Aim Light at point, click anywhere on the canvas and will control lights. I asked him to remove the confusing Physical Light that was post July 2024. I hope this information helps you an others.

I think Adobe has mixed up their info on Physical Light with Adobe Substance. You are right I don't see that in Dn 4.04. I will call Adobe tech to let them know about the mix up, I hope they prove me wrong, because I would like to use it. I'll report here what my finding a are.. FYI, that feature used to be in Photoshop 2021, version 22.2, which you can still download and use, it is the last fully functional 3D in Photoshop.

I saw the link to Adobe's Physical Lights. I know what you mean, it is not clear where those options are. I have to play with it some more. I found a couple of videos on custome lights, but one is 4 years old, it will help undersatnd how it works, also there was a video on Adobe Dimension Help section and it was release in August 2024. here is what I have found on my Dn 4.04 this screenshot shows that on the right panel if you select Environment and scroll down to where you see Ground - Background - Lights, select lights and then there is a + where you can have all the different controls or properties to use those lights. I hope this helps in the meantime I'm going to dig through this, but I have a few other projects to finish I know what you're going through is so annoying. dimension team throws stuff on us, but they don't have a concrete explanations.. https://youtu.be/9r7tF1Jo5Fc?si=aw_kNAWh4rmCfuch https://www.adobe.com/learn/dimension/web/set-environment?learnIn=1

I just don't understand why Adobe tech are not responding to these concerns. I have reported a few bugs like the lock of the layer. The icon never change so you can't tell if iit's locked or unlock. I can't believe they spent all this time to bring Adobe dimension to 4.0 version and just stop with no fixings.

I was on the phone with Adobe Tech support, I told tech for the last 2 years Adobe has been working on improving Adobe Dimension, made it a very robust app, why not optimize it to work on silicon Macs. But no answer about optimizing it to run on M Macs. One Adobe tech recommended to use The Substance Apps, but I explained it will take a long learning curve and its another $49 a month. I hope my post will be read by Adobe tech. I understand the frustration about Adobe Dimension 4.04 not being optimized for Apple Silicon yet. However, I’ve been working on an M1 Mac Studio, and I’ve had a surprisingly positive experience with rendering speed. Even while working on a complex 3D motor oil six-pack tray with lots of details, I didn’t face any slowness, and rendering times were fast. While native optimization would definitely be a big plus, I’m finding that Dimension still performs really well on Apple’s M1 hardware. Rosetta 2 generally allows these Intel apps to run smoothly, but they may not achieve the same speed as native ARM-optimized applications. For resource-intensive apps like Adobe Dimension 4.0, one might experience some slowdown compared to using a native version. Check Attachment, it was done in Dn 4.04

Adobe Dimension has not yet been fully optimized for Apple Silicon (M1, M2, or M3) as of version 4.04. It continues to run through Rosetta 2, which is Apple’s translation layer that allows Intel-based applications to run on Apple Silicon Macs. Although Dimension should still perform well, especially with Apple’s powerful M1, M2, or M3 chips, it is not taking full advantage of native optimizations that would make rendering even faster or more efficient.
