I had those problems with "AI" selections on my "old" notebook with an Intel Core i7. It seems as if the older internal Intel HD graphic card and the missing RAM aren't suitable for new ACR versions. With that notebook, I wasn't able anymore to use the subject selections. Even with my Samsung Galaxy Book4 Ultra (latest Intel Core Ultra 9 185H, 32GB RAM, nVidia RTX 4070 Mobile), the latest ACR version leads to stutter or system freezes when using the AI supported functions, whereas on my PC with Intel Core i9-10900K, 128GB RAM and nVidia RTX 3080 Ti, I have nearly any problems. What's also annoying is, that Adobe products eat up the RAM like nothing. When you open a photo in Photoshop, it loaded into the RAM. But after closing the photo (not Photoshop), the RAM won't be freed! After my workflow sometimes I have approx. 100GB of 128GB filled. So, when you open a photo with a high resolution (like my photos with 45.7 MP from my camera) in ACR and do a lot of work, the RAM is full and Adobe begins to use the paging file, which slows the system down extremely.

At first, thanks for your answer. Well, the technical preview of the AI denoise must use different routines, otherwise it would still create a new DNG file. If this wasn't new tech, it wouldn't be a preview feature. The Geforce RTX 4070 is the mobile version with 8GB GDDR6 RAM, 80W TGP, Boost Clock 1605 MHz. I also get a message, that the AI settings have to be updated everytime I check or uncheck the Denoise checkbox in the detail tab. Another thin I noticed is, that the cursor only begins to judder, when I use the pen of the Xencelab pen. When I use the notebook's trackpad, the cursor behaves normally. I will post this in the bugs section as you mentioned. Or some moderator could move this thread over there. Thanks.

Hey guys, just tried the new AI denoise in Camera RAW with my 45.7 MP milkyway photo, that I shot this evening. It seems as if it is so performance-hungry, that working with my tablet (Xencelabs Small Tablet) is nearly impossible because of the cursor starting to jerk extremely. Only when I'm deactivating the denoise checkbox, everything's working smoothly again. This happens on my Samsung Galaxy Book4 Ultra with Intel Core Ultra 9 185H, 32GB RAM and 1TB SSD with Windows 11 23H2. Did anyone else face this problem? Best regards, Jens

No, not really. There's no pattern. Sometimes I can work for hours without problems, in another situation it happens after 15 Minutes. When I have opened multiple files at the same time, the problem is only existent in this one file, the others can still be edited then.

Hello everyone, at the moment, I often have the problem, that after certain edits the cursor get's its Windows standard form and the open file is not editable anymore. Because of all the edits already made, I have to save the file a psd and re-open it. Only then I'm able to edit the photo again. After saving as psd and re-opening: Has anyone a solution for this problem? Thanks in advance and best regards Jens

Hello everybody, since the other thread was blocked, I wanted to know what the current status is of the NRAW implementation. The last answer in May was that Adobe is working on it... It's November now and still no support. I can't use the full potential of my Nikon Z8 with a so called professional software, that costs lots of credits... Why do I have to buy a competitor's product - which also provides Dolby Atmos output right out of the box btw - to get the job done? Sorry, but this gets a bit annoying. @ All Nikon Z8/Z9 users, what do you think? Best regards

If you mean the old Google Nik Collection, this totally works fine. If you have installed an older version of Photoshop, go to that version folder and take a look into the plugin folder. There you should find a "Google" folder. Just copy or move the folder to the plugin folder of the latest Photoshop version. Restart Photoshop and you're good to go. If you haven't installed the Google Nik Collection yet, just use the path to the plugin folder at the installation process. For me the filters work perfectly fine.

Too be honest, I find the RAM usage of Photoshop CC really bad. Photoshop CS6 was way better in handling that. I normally have a workflow where I open about 4 to 6 RAW files at the same time. Which I close after editing (without exiting Ps) and then open the next files... Instead of freeing the RAM for the closed files, the usage gets higher and higher. Not that long ago I had to process lots of photos... And checked my RAM usage after some time of editing... 96 GB of my 128 GB RAM were already in use. Only closing Ps frees the RAM. It would be nice, if the RAM for could be freed when closing a file.

Thank you for the information. Unfortunately this doesn't work with my touchpad (pinching only leads to scrolling to the left, two finger tap opens the context menu)... I have to use the touch screen directly, what annoys a bit (when I don't need the stylus) because of the fingerprints and I don't always use the notebook in tablet mode. 😉 But that's my personal problem. There should be an option in the preferences to toggle this function on and off. Nevertheless, thanks for your help.

Hey all, I've bought a Samsung Galaxy Book3 Pro 360 to edit photos when traveling. Normally I use the Spacebar + right-click to adjust the zoom to the canvas. Unfortunately, the key shortcut doesn't work with the touchpad of the notebook. Normal Spacebar + left-click for sliding around the canvas works though. I'll have to use an external mouse for the Spacebar + right-click to work. Does anyone else have this problem? Thanks in advance and best regards, Jens

I think, the topic can be closed... In my opinion it's the lack of enough RAM. I now have a Samsung Galaxy Book3 Pro 360 with 16GB DDR5 RAM, which works flawlessly. But the RAM consumption of Photoshop increased tremendously with the Creative Cloud versions... The CS6 outperforms the later versions in this regard with ease.

Thanks, did that already... In neither of my browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge Chromium) the chat window is shown. Never mind... I think, I'll stick with the photography bundle. I don't think, that I get the support, I need, in time. But thanks for all your help.

I wanted to call the chat... But it seems as if Adobe disabled the chat function (at least in Germany). That's really annoying, when a company claims "Real help from real people.". I think I'll stay with the Photography plan... Seems to risky for me.

Hey everybody, I have a subscription for the pre-paid Adobe Photography plan (Photoshop, Lightroom, 20GB), which lasts until 2024. Amazon is now offering the Creative Cloud plan for a reasonable price at their Prime Days. My question now is: When I buy this CC plan, will it be added to my account as a separate plan and run parallel to my current Photo plan? What happens with the remaining two years? Will they be added to Photoshop and Lightroom? So that when I decide not to continue with the whole CC suite, that I still have the 2 years of my current plan. Is that possible? Thanks for your answers in advance. Best regards, Jens

Hi everyone, I'm using Photoshop and ACR with my Microsoft Surface Pro (2017) with 8GB RAM. But everytime, when I want to use the subject selection tool in ACR, I get an error pop-up, which says "An error occured: The AI selection model cannot be loaded". Is this due to the lack of enough RAM? The minimum requirements are met by the Microsoft Surface. The problem is also existent in the latest version of ACR. Attached you can find the system info file from Photoshop. Thanks in advance and best regards, Jens

Hi Dave, thanks for your answer. I used the "Kyle's Paintbox - Natural Feel Special" in my demo. But there are several brushes, which are more or less useless on my system because of the severe input lag. Especially the "Natural Feel" brushes in the Paintbox section have this massive lag. The canvas settings are according to my photos right out of my camera: Width: 5504 Px Height: 8256 Px Resolution: 300 ppi Color mode: RGB 16bit Color profile: Adobe RGB Thanks for your help. Much appreciated! Best regards, Jens

Hi guys, I wanted to use the Kyle T. Webster brushes and chose some of the paintbox bruches out of the megapack. Unfortunately the brushes are so extremely laggy, that they cannot be used (see attached video). The standard brushes work well. I tried everything... From deactivating the hardware acceleration over disabling the technology preview settings to starting PS without add-ins. Nothing worked. My system configuration is as follows: OS: Windows 10 64-bit (latest updates installed) Photoshop version: 23.2.2 CPU: Intel Core i9 10900K RAM: 128GB DDR4 RAM 3200 Hard drives: 1 M.2 SSD (Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1TB, system drive with PS installed), 1 SSD (Samsung 860 EVO 2TB), 1 SATA drive (2TB) Graphics: Gigabyte RTX 3080 Ti Vision OC Tablet: Wacom Intuos Pro M Attached you find a video of the brush lag and the system info from PS. Thanks for your help in advance and kind regards, Jens

Please update to a later version or go to "Preferences" -> "Technology Preview" and disable the "Enable Native Canvas Rulers" checkbox. That should work. Unfortunately in version 23.2.2 the clone stamp tool is laggy again, when hitting the Alt-key, it begins to stutter again...

Hi, since mp4 only is a container format, we need a little more information on what codecs are used in your video. You can do this with tools like MediaInfo or just open the file in VLC media player, there go to "Tools" -> "Codec Information". Best regards

Saw the solution in another thread. 1. Go to Preferences -> Technology Preview 2. Deactivate "Enable Native Canvas Rulers" That worked fine for me. This thread can be closed now.

Hello everybody, in the latest version of Ps I have the problem, that after I hit the Alt key, Ps becomes extremely laggy and stutters when moving the mouse/stylus... It's unusable from that point on. Deactivating the hardware acceleration didn't help. Since it worked in the last versions without any flaws, I don't think it's a hardware issue. You can see it in the attached video. First moving the cursor is very smooth. After hitting the Alt-key, it begins to stutter extremely. My system has following configuration: - Intel Core i9 10900K - 128 GB RAM - 2TB Samsung EVO SSD - Windows 10 64-bit - Wacom Intuos Pro M Thanks for your help in advance. Best regards, Jens

Hello everyone,
after the update to ACR 13, it's gotten absolutely useless to me. I'm left-hander and therefore changed the primary mouse button. Now I'm not able to drag the sliders anymore. Only tapping on the slidebar moves the slider directly to that point.
When using the brush-tool with my Surface Pen, I can only tap it... Creating a brush stroke is not possible.
Changing the primary mouse button back "solves" this problem.
Strangely this problem only exists on my Microsoft Surface Pro (2017). On my stationary PC with a Wacom Intuos Pro, everything works fine in this case (but PS 2021 is very buggy at the moment).
When will this be fixed?
Best regards!

I have the exact same problem. But only on my Microsoft Surface Pro (2017). I can't move the sliders neither with the touchpad of my Type Cover, nor with the Surface ArcMouse nor the Surface Pen. I can only tap on a position on the slider bar, to get the slider to that position. That's really annoying unfortunately! On my PC otherwise, everything works flawlessly with my Logitech G900 mouse and my Wacom Intuos Pro M tablet. Both systems run Windows 10 Pro in the latest version.

Hi Jane, you can find it under Filters > Neural Filters and there you'll have change to the Beta-Filters (it's the laboratory bottle symbol). There you can find the "Colorize" Filter. Just download and use it.

the sliders in ACR don't work anymore via dragging the slider on my Microsoft Surface Pro. I can only tap on the slider to get into position.
I hope this will be fixed asap!

Hey y'all, hope you're all well. I installed the latest update of Photoshop on my Windows system. Beside all the improvements there are some issues, that affect my workflow in a negative way. 1. Camera RAW 12.3: I like the new layout of ACR (even though I had to search for some settings at first). but everytime I switch to the brush tool, I'm not able to zoom via Alt + mouse wheel anymore. I first need to switch back to the general settings to make that work. That's unfortunately really annoying. 2. As a user with a German keyboard layout, I am still not able to fast-change from brush to eraser. On the German help page is shown, that you shall press and hold the ` key (grave accent) instead of the ~ (tilde) in the GB / US keyboard layout. Unfortunately on a German keyboard the grave accent is only reachable via Shift + ´ (acute accent). This doesn't work neither. Why isn't it possible to add this function in the shortcut menue (Ctrl + Shift + K), where you can set your own shortcut to it? Problem solved. 3. Although the color of the brush preview is set to red by default, it is not shown, when I change the brush size or edge. I now have to guess or paint a dot to see what it looks like. --> EDIT: Because of new hardware I changed from Windows 7 to Windows 10. The problem doesn't exist anymore. I hope these things will be fixed soon. Or does anyone already have solutions for those issues? Thanks for your help. Best regards from Hamburg, Germany Jens

Resetting the brush tool didn't work. But I had some findings: 1. The key binding on the German keyboard layout somehow seems to interfere with the English layout. Because when I change the language in Photoshop to English and press the '<'-key, I'll get the same brush but not as an eraser. 2. It is the very first brush in the brush list. 3. When you're hitting the '<'-key and the left mouse-button simultaneously, the brush isn't changed to eraser mode. After letting the '<'-key loose, the brush tool stays in eraser mode until I end painting (letting loose the mouse-button). After letting loose the mouse-button the tool jumps to the very first brush in the list (round and soft) again.

Hey guys, I have the problem, that the new brush to eraser function does not use the chosen brush but changes it to round and soft and stays there. That's extremely annoying. Can anyone help me out here? What am I doing wrong? I am using Photoshop on my Microsoft Surface (2017). Chosen brush: Selected brush Hitting the '<'-key on the German keyboard layout (on English keyboards it's the '~'-key) leads to: Quick-key-function for eraser with chosen brush The form of the "quick eraser" stays: Form of the eraser is used as brush Thanks for your help in advance!
