I tried this but was unable to find any ghost images. I also tried Bob's suggestion to save-as MIF, but did not find anything that way either.

Hi - I have a specific question but I have to imagine others have had it happened. Currently working on FM2020. All software is managed by IT, so I cannot download any extensions/extras/or change my FM SW, just as a note. The issue: I work on big user guides (400+ pages) and include many images of our app and physical product in workflows. When software is updated, screens get updated. When designers make a change, design elements on the GUIs change. When I put updated GUIs/artworks/button graphics/whatever in my links folder where I store them, and then update the image in the book file, save, close, then reopen the next time I have work to do, Framemaker asks me to update the path for the image/element that is NO LONGER in the document. I delete these images/elements from the links folder. We have so many, and also translate into multiple language from our English source, it is not practical to hold onto not in use images. Has anyone encountered this? This might seem minor, but when I'm swapping out 20+ images and having to "Ignore missing file" every time I open all files in a book, it becomes extremely burdensome. Any advice?? Thank you!

Thank you for the advice; I found the logs. So with this issue, my only recourse is to send those logs to Adobe and hope they get back to me or have a solution?

I have been searching for a solution to this problem. I have had IT uninstall, redownload, and reinstall FM2020 to my system twice. I cannot upgrade to 2022. Here is my issue: I attempted to generate a TOC for a book and it gave me an internal error 16054. That is when I did the above troubleshooting. However, even after doing this, I cannot open any books in any projects, whether I made the original book or not. I also cannot create a new book based on the files from the original books. Attempting to create a new book doesn't generate the fatal error. Attempting to open an existing book does. I have read the forum post suggesting changing the file name in C:/Users/[user name]/AppData etc., but no folder called AppData exists in my user profile. There are not that many posts with solutions to this issue, especially current ones in for this version of FM. Something about generating the ToC for a book triggered an internal error that is now causing me major issues. If I could make a new book and add the files, that would be fine, though annoying, but I can't even create a new book. I have no idea what is going on or what to do. I have an email out to Adobe support, but I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this. I am not a computer Admin, so I cannot mess around with uninstalling or installing without contacting my company's IT support. Anyone else? Anyone with a solution? Thanks in advance.

My pen pattern was and is set to none. My reference pages are set to the exact dimensions they should be for this to work. Thank you for your help.

I do not know what a rule above is. After taking a pause from trying to solve this I am more convinced than ever that it is an issue that cannot be addressed through ref pages or changing any settings. My coworkers on 2020 have all the same settings and generate these PDFs with zero issues. Something is happening in the publishing process as the Heading1 paragraph design appears correct in FrameMaker and then deforms once published. Thank you for your help, I appreciate it.

This is my current version: 17.0.1.305 It is an extremely strange issue. When I remove the Frame above setting, the Heading1 box is too small, and the text inside the box bumps up against the top of the blue box. Is there a way to make the height of the heading one box higher and eliminate the frame above setting altogether?

I have had two major ongoing issues since upgrading to Framemaker 2022 from 2020. The first I have found a workaround for, although I am still trying to figure out the reason, the second is below. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem or has a solution. I work on a User Guide that has a healthy catalog of paragraph styles and we do utilize the reference page for a feature on the advanced tab of the paragraph designer tool. Here is what the settings look like (first two images). The third image is that paragraph style as it appears in FM (as it should). The second is how it looks when I publish a PDF for web viewing. Notice the notched left and right upper corners. I have used the reference page to adjust the Heading1 background bar, which is the selected setting in Frame Above Pfg in the advanced tab of this paragraph design element. It has not solved the problem. I have a ticket with Adobe, but have not yet had success in troubleshooting this issue. If anyone in the community has any ideas, I am very open to suggestions. Thank you in advance. To repeat/note, this is not happening for my coworkers running FM 2020, nor did it happen for me before the upgrade.
