Will someone finally fix this arrow cursor? For the last month I've been working with the layers panel on top and the problem didn't occur, since yesterday it doesn't help anymore and the arrow appears again. I have old equipment, I'm replacing it with a new one soon, but at least let me know what could be the reason. This happens to me on all versions, including the oldest ones. Does anyone here take it seriously?

Layers panel, where you can move the layer thumbnails from top to bottom. I've been painting for a few days now with the layers panel open and the white arrow not showing up, so I think this is a solution for me. As soon as I close the panel, the arrow appears, always. The open panel doesn't bother me because I usually paint pictures with a lot of layers and thanks to that I can switch them quickly.

I don't know if this is helpful, but today I noticed that the arrow disappears when I'm painting and I have the layer preview panel open. When I close the panel, the arrow while painting reappears. If that was the solution, it could work like this. I will watch it.

I upgraded to version 24.0 and it was fine for two days. The arrow never appeared. It started showing up today. I don't know what to do anymore. 5 years of using photoshop and there were no problems and now this problem. I do not know if there are any alternatives to this program, but I will probably wait another month, if the problem is not solved, I change the software to another.

Hi I mounted a new 500 GB system drive on which I installed photoshop. I have a problem with the brush cursor. While painting, I have the brush shape turned on as the cursor, but every now and then it turns into a plain white arrow for a fraction of a second. It annoys me a lot because I can't see the shape of the brush and its border. Drawing also slows down. This happens when I quickly press the brush twice using both the wacom pen and the mouse button. After a while everything goes back to normal and nothing happens. I tried to paint using the cursor as a crosshair or something else and there were no problems. This only happens when I have the cursor showing the brush tip. I've noticed that the problem disappears when I'm painting in a distant view, and becomes active when I zoom in a bit. I reset preferences, tried different performance settings, etc. but nothing worked. This happens on all recent versions of photoshop. Graphics card and tablet drivers are up to date. Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4670 CPU 3.40GHz 3.40 GHz 16,0 GB RAM Windows 10 Home 22H2 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 3GB Wacom intuos pro M I currently uninstalled all versions of photoshop and installed the old 22.2 and it's the same. I have updated graphics card and tablet drivers. The cursor is stable only when I have a far away view. When I'm working on a medium or higher zoom, there are often delays in drawing and my cursor switches to a white arrow. The same thing happens when I paint with the mouse. It all started with reinstalling the system at the beginning of the year and reinstalling the entire package. The system was installed on a new 500GB hard drive.

Thanks for the answer. This happens to me on all versions. Now I switched to the oldest version available and it's the same. What I noticed is probably related to the zoom level of the image. When I zoom out, the problem seems to go away. I will watch it.

Hi I had the same problem. What worked for me was toggling the scroll all windows option in the hand tool. The option to enable is in the top bar.

I guess the solution is to enable the scroll all windows option in the hand tool settings at the top of the screen. I hit the unlucky key combination hundreds of times, and nothing broke. When I turned off the option, immediately after pressing the pen and hand tool combination, it jammed again. I guess this is probably the solution. I'll be watching this for now.

I've reset preferences and disabled the option you're talking about. It's still the same.

I found out what the situation is. This is 100 percent certain. The situation happens every time I have the hand tool turned on to move the screen and I press pen several times in a row in quick succession. It is enough that, for example, I press the space bar so that a hand appears, and I hit the tablet with the pen a few times. It crashes every time 100% of the time. A regular mouse cursor arrow appears instead of, for example, a brush. The problem exists only when we are dealing with a hand tool with the pen hitting the tablet. For comparison, I turned on the hand tool and used the mouse instead of the feather by clicking the left button and nothing bad happens. I updated the tablet drivers and then went back to older versions and it's the same.

Unfortunately the problem persists. After only 20 minutes of running the program, the problem is back.

Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4670 CPU 3.40GHz 3.40 GHz 16,0 GB RAM Windows 10 Home 22H2 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 3GB Wacom intuos pro M For example, using a brush and moving it, sometimes suddenly the brush cursor (e.g. a circle) turns into a simple white arrow like a mouse cursor. Since then, I can't move the image to any side. I can't zoom in and out, I can't draw, erase, use a stamp, etc. I can use the cursor to switch between options, layers, etc. Fortunately, I can save the file, but I can't edit or change it in any way. When I close the file (but not the program) and reload the file, everything works fine. I'm very keen to solve the problem, because I have a tight schedule and I can't procrastinate with work. I reinstalled the program several times. I reset preferences but that didn't help either. I read somewhere here that some people have the same problem, but there seems to be no final solution. This happens with every version of photoshop available. I managed to find information that maybe the windows ink function and the option of holding down the pen for a moment are to blame here. I have disabled this option in the windows ink feature. I also disabled the press and hold option in pen and touch devices settings.I tried to disable the windows ink function in the tablet panel, but unfortunately then the pen does not detect pressure levels while working in photoshop. So far I've managed to work an hour without a problem, but I don't know if this is a solution.

Hi From time to time, the tool cursor, e.g. a brush, turns into an arrow and all I can do is switch panels, options, etc. I can also save the file. I can't draw, use any tool and move the image. The usual mouse cursor symbol appears. This happens on all versions: 2021, 2022 and 2023. The problem started to appear from the new year when I uninstalled the entire creative cloud and reinstalled the entire package. My graphic card and tablet drivers are up to date. I currently have everything installed on a brand new system drive.
