We have an ask from the customers. In the Frameless responsive output that has a home page/landing page with tiles, the ask is to somehow upfront add a revision history of updates that are published in the help. Any ideas/suggestions how this can be added?

Hi, I have a scenario where we upload eLearning courses on an LMS. The users complete the course but it is not getting marked as complete. This is the setting we have: We do not have any dependency on Quiz and the course is configured to be complete when user completes 90% or more. Not sure if anything is missing from the .cptx/source file. LMS is still not marking it as complete so would something be on the LMS side that is preventing it? Or is it something we can handle in the Captivate source? Any pointers?

Maybe let me represent the ask in a simpler way. We have a .cptx project that we output as html5. The structures of the slides is: Intro music Title Pre-requisites Section 1 slide a slide b slide c Section 2 slide x slide y slide z Section 3 slide p slide q slide r Quiz/KC quiz 1 quiz 2 quiz 3 Thank You slide We want to output/use Section 1, 2, and 3 separately as short videos (.mp4). Currently, we do it by copy-pasting those slides in a separate .cptx and saving as .mp4. Is that the only way/best way to do it? Or is there a way where we build only Section 1, 2, 3 as short .cptx files and combine them as a bigger eLearning? Combining will be good old copy-paste (manual stuff), no other way to do it. So would slicing a bigger project into smaller and then saving .mp4s is better or combining smaller .cptx files into a bigger eLearning file make sense?

Answers inline for above questions: Question 1: Responsive Question 2: The micro/short videos that we want to output and use will be .mp4 and not html5 outputs. The bigger eLearning course will be html5 scorm output. Question 3: Ok. The idea is to minimize/single-source as much as possible to be able to output smaller mp4 files from the same superset/source. Question 4: Yes, for the bigger eLearning html5 output we have an LMS that we use. The smaller mp4 outputs will not be published to the LMS though. Question 5: Yes to both. Question 6: Yes The idea is we want to output short videos as mp4 from a bigger eLearning html5 course. We'll use the mp4s differently as short videos. The question is is there a smarter way to do that by maybe building short videos (.cptx) and then combining them as a bigger eLearning course?

There is a consistent ask from the users/customers for short/micro videos not more than few seconds (less that a minute). I am trying to figure out a way where we can build multiple short/micro videos and combine them into a full elearning couse as and when required. Typically, I would have 5 different .cptx source files of micro/short videos. And when I need to combine them into an eLearning modules I will create another source file and just copy-paste content of these short videos into one big video. Any tips on this? Or is there a smart/better way to do it?

Hi, I have a Captivate eLearning project. One of the slides has a video demo with captions and audio. Is it possible to ONLY export the slide with the video demo or the video demo itself as .mp4?

We have a scenario where the users accessing a Captivate eLearning module on a learning management system who complete 80% of the module do not get a completion certficate. We have quizzes/knowledge checks in the module but we don't want to bind them to the module completion. The quizzes are just a casual knowledge check that can be retaken. But we want to make sure that if the user has seen 80% module and exits it we still call it as complete. If the user has seen only 50% module then we definitely don't want to call it as complete. How can this be achieved in Captivate?

We have eLearning modules with software simulation and some with quizzes as well. At the end of the module is it possible to solicit user feedback by maybe including a small form with about 2 to 3 questions, where the user submits it?

We have a responsive html5 help output. The search works perfectly. Except, for some terms, it takes exceptionally more time and results in page unresponsive error. Any idea/pointers on why that would happen?

Hi, I have a responsive HTML5 help source. I am able to generate a PDF document format and it works as expected. One issue, in the ToC of the PDF that is generated when I click the chapter name, it takes me to the first topic inside the chapter. The Chapter name is also not shown in the PDF. For example: Chapter A ......page 20 Topic A1....page 20 Topic A2.....page 21 Now, If I click Chapter A in the ToC it takes me to Topic A1 in the PDF. Chapter A is also not seen in page 20. Why does it go hidden? Any idea what is missing?

So I have first 10 slides that have a Next button. And it should play the audio and wait for the user to click Next. Similar such slides I have later in between. They are mostly title slides before a software simulation starts.

Thanks. I think the second problem is blocking the audio as we have navigation button (Next). Why would it work in a preview then? Any idea how to set the button to not pause the timeline?

Hi, I am facing a weird issue. I have an eLearning module about 100+ slides and I have added text-to-speech to it. The preview from slide 1 works perfectly. I can click any slide from the ToC and the audio/video plays perfectly. When I take an output the audio plays only for the first 2 slides. If I click later slides in the ToC the audio doesn't play. Any idea why this happens?

I am using Update 7. Well, here is more about this scenario. This is something to do with specific words. For example, when the search string has the work 'mapping' the results are getting blocked. The browser just freezes, I checked if the work 'mapping' is part of stop words. However, 'mapping' is not a stop word.

I noticed something weird. I have a Frameless help output. Everything works fine. Just the search has suddenly started some weird behavior. Whatever I search takes a very very long time to get results. The results don't show up but gives a message about unresponsive page. Any idea why?

We have an eLearning module. The customers unfortunately also need a printable handout. I am able to save it as a Word document/handout. However, the formatting is not so great and needs some manual fixes when we save it as a word handout. Is there a way to save/output the Captivate project as a PPT or any other tip/cheat? Saving a PPT as a PDF is much cleaner.

Hi, We have two projects with their respective frameless outputs. In the header of project 1 we see this entry: <meta name="template" content="../assets/masterpages/DV_Template.htt" /> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> in the <head> tag. Project 2 does not show this for some reason in the <head> tag. Would that be a problem in anyway? Anything related to caching etc.?

Thanks @Karin Albrecht and @Peter Grainge I tried removing the tile image for a chapter in the ToC. However, the tile shows up with a blank image. The tile doesnt get hidden. Also, with conditions when I hide the chapter, the tile gets hidden and also it hides from the left nav/ToC. Is there a way using conditions to show it in the left nav/toc but just hide from the tiles?

I have a frameless output with 10 tiles and each tile having an image. I have an assets > images folder that holds the 10 tile images png files. I am managing the tiles from the ToC. When I refer to the tile image from the relative folder for example /assets/images/image1.png the image shows up correctly in a local output. However, when I move the output to the web server the tile image doesn't show up. When I refer to the tile image with an absolute path ex/- https://server/assets/images/image1.png then the image shows up when I publish the output to the web server. Any idea why would the relative path now work from the server and work from a local output?

I have a frameless output. I have about 10 chapters in the ToC that show up correctly on the landing page. I want to hide a few of them on the landing page but still have them show up in the toc in the left navigation. Is that possible? The hide in Toc option in the ToC properties hides it at both places the tiles/landing page as well as the ToC.
