I manually checked for updates in Acrobat (ie Acrobat>Help>Check for updates) and there was an update available (for me) – version 25.001.20438. From what I can see from Acrobat Release Notes site, it was released on 19th Mar. I installed and the issue is resolved!! Also want to add in here HubSpot were fantastic. They responded quickly to my ticket with their own investigation, but as per above looks like Abode have resloved with lastest update.

Having exact same problem - in Acrobat Pro (they work in Reader but you can no longer have both Reader and Pro on same device). Raised with HubSpot and they are investigating also. Docs open in other pdf readers just fine, such as Preview, or Foxit Reader.
