25.3.0 Beta build 3 When audio track mixer is visible, timeline indicator does not move, it's frozen at the start point. On stop indicator jumps to where playback stopped. It does it whether track mixer window is in focus or not. (window is on a 2nd screen). Things return to normal if the track mixer is nested in a window (such as behind Effect Controls), but not visible.

When I run into this it's usually because I have Adobe Media Encoder running in the background. Close it, wait a minute, then it will run the update.

If there are scripts out there, why haven't these been incorporated into the program by now??? Flipping horizontal or vertical is critical to my work, and clients don't have the budget to run thru Lightroom just for a horizontal flip. (Lightroom has too much file overhead for such a simple job.) You can rotate all day long in Lightroom and it changes the metadata in the photo by default. Why can't we flip?

I just noticed that "Add Chapter Marker" and "Add Flash Cue Marker" are still timeline options. Now that Encore is gone, and so is Flash, why are these here? Do Chapter markers send metadata in export for use in apps like TMPEG? If so, someone please explain.

Since the Work Area is turned off by default, and being lazy enough to not turn it back on, I've been using the In-Out keyboard shortcuts to mark areas for export. I rather like that better than the work area. But one thing the work area had going for it, is you could right click the selection and it would tell you the duration of the selection. I'd like to be able to right click the in-out selection in the timeline scale and have the duration of the selection pop up. Or a shift+click or alt+click to show duration. Or am I missing something? Thanks.

One last point. If you want to interactively move a clip in the program window, do the following: 1. DOUBLE-CLICK the clip showing in the program window. This should select the clip in the timeline, so look and make sure it's highlighted. 2. A little "transform option" button will appear lower left in the program monitor. It should show a square outline with handles, which means you're in the "transform" mode. The down-arrow option button will show other options, depending on attributes on the clip: (That's new, "crop" is now an option!!!) 4. Now you can move the clip around time window, just as you would something in Photoshop. You'll see a blue outline with handles surrounding the clip, so to zoom, grab any of the handles and drag in or out, then position the frame where you want it. 5. If you zoom out so far you can't see the handles, THAT's when you use the other zoom tool, or choose a percentage zoom from the indicator next to the time (the 96% in the screenshot above). Zoom it out so you can see the handles to complete the zoom - or just use the parameters in the Properties or Effects Control panels.

BTW a "nested sequence" is the feature where you can insert one timeline into another, basically as another video clip. One use for that is doing a longer show in "chapters" so you don't have a super-long timeline. Then you would nest all the chapters in one sequence for the final export. Also if you have a very complicated scene with lots of layers, you can do that in a separate sequence, then nest it into another timeline without having to export - and you can always go back and tweak the nested sequence. That's how Multicam works, if you haven't had the pleasure of that.

You may be encountering the new feature where you can pan and zoom the program monitor, which does not change the position of the video clip relative to the frame - only your view of it. When you make the move, check in either the Properties or the Effect Controls panel to be sure the "motion" coordinates have changed. You can also control the framing from there, and of course that's were you can add keyframes to animate the move. To know what you're looking at, If you're doing a zoom, the "Scale" parameter will be more or less than 100%. And if you're moving the image side to side or up and down the "Motion" parameters will not be the same as an unchanged clip. Take a screenshot of those parameters once you've completed a move. Then save, close and reopen the project and see if the parameters are changed. If they are, that's something our Adobe friends will need to know.

How are you doing the repositioning, and what kind of timeline are you working with? I'm not seeing any issues in the beta on a standard timeline using motion controls to resize and put moves on stills. But if I resize or put motion an image in a multicam source sequence, which is then nested into a multicam timeline, when rendered the resizing is omitted, and on restart the image is static. I think it has something to do with being in a nested sequence. Havent' seen a resolution to that bug I reported earlier in the week.

When you first open Premier Pro it offers a list of recent projects. So far, excellent. But I have a number of projects with the same name for different clients. While I need to remember to add the client name to the project so they're unique, it would be most helpful to have the PATH of the project listed alongside the project name in that opening screen. Fortunately, File|Open Recent shows paths. Thanks.

I didn't think I sent this, because I found the problem right away. Sorry about that. Turns out I had tracks muted on the multitrack source sequence (was doing color correction on deeper tracks and forgot to unmute them.) The project worked fine - except when trying to add motion to a clip (see tonight's report.)

Steps to reproduce: 1. Set up a multicam sequence. Reserve one track for static images (still JPGs) 2. Cut to the still image JPG for a short time 3. After setting start/end points and having the cut section of the multicam track on the timeline, adjust motion in the clip to start with a closeup on an element of the JPG and then scaling it out to full frame 4. Observe that it plays perfectly from the timeline 5. Render to h.264 Result: ... The motion effect does not play. The full frame graphic appears without moving Expected: ... Two days ago I set up a multicam project and it was working fine, even after saving, reboots and restarts. With today's build nothing is playing on the program monitor, even after reloads and restarts. Audio plays but there's no picture in the program monitor. No static picture either when skipping around with the playhead. If I double click the multicam clip, it renders black in the preview monitor. (I should see the sources). If I go into multicam edit mode, everything is black except for an outline of the camera that's supposed to be playing. If I go into the multicam source sequence and double click a clip, it shows in the preview monitor, but even there scrubbing the timeline shows nothing in the program monitor. I tested 3 other non-multicam projects and they work OK. To be sure I updated the nVidia driver. That made no difference. Did something break in multicamland in this build??? So now I'm checking other settings. It is speedy with the Vimeo 480p settings, either widescreen or 4:3. If I switch interlacing on, it does the slowdown. Except with the "Match Source - Adaptive High Resolution" setting. With interlacing set to Progressive, it slows down (but not as much as with it on).

I've upgraded the machine with SSDs that are capable of 10GB/sec. But I'm rendering SD DV SDI to SD DV MP4 at around 12KB/s - when it writes. It's "chunking," little write bursts that corresspond to 3D activity on the nVidia GPU and CPU. Nothing happens on the Intel GPU. Latest nVidia driver on a 2080ti. This used to render quickly. I'm trying to render DV NTSC AVI files to MP4. Having extreme difficulty if I'm not using the SSD array because AME now needs to read the whole file before it does anything. I'm using SATA spinning drives on a USB 3 dock because the files have to be captured on other machines (because Firewire Capture is now omitted on Premier). Source files are between 8-12GB Steps to reproduce: 1. Drop a file into the render queue OR 2. once it loads click the preset setting to change settings Result: It takes forever. Looking at Task Manager, the drive is reading the entire file at full USB speed (external drive), but the file's so big it's taking 5 minutes to do just one file. Unacceptable. Expected: AME is ready to go within seconds. Workaround: Use CS6. Just to test, I started the queue in CS6. The files loaded in 1-2 seconds. Opening settings took only a second or two as well. I was able to save out point and change bitrate settings no problem. It'll take all day to render on that old machine, but it's much faster to set up than the new iterations. What's wrong here???
