@James ONeill Hi; Callme.pads's directions are a bit tricky for me to understand, too, but I think I figured them out. I believe "full Screen" is to maximize the working window, which will do so to whatever size of monitor InDCC is launched on. Attached is my PC's desktop showing InDCC in all its glory, hoping it might help understand. In any event, the instructions did not help correct the issue, at least for me. Below is how InDCC currently is choosing to launch—notice the working window's placement, which varies with each launch; sometimes it takes up the whole monitor, sometimes it's very small, always in a random location on the monitor—in every case, I have to manually resize the working window to my preference/comfort.

@HARSHIKA_VERMA Hi; The issue to which you refer to (and provided link) as having an "active conversation"—"InDesign minimizing window after exiting preview mode"—is entirely different from the issue addressed in this discussion. This discussion is about InDCC not remembering the size of the working window from its last launch, and opening to a random size on next launch—the working window would open to occupy the entire size of the montitor it's launched on -or- any random size and location within the monitor it's launched on ...which is what happens to me. No matter how many or what forum fixes I apply, no matter how many times I save a workspace ('New workspace') whether new or overwriting an existing workspace, the working window will always open, at InDCC's launch, to a random size/placement within my PC's monitor.

@jeremiahz85492534 Hi. Never figured it, but it was corrected. Read my update below. UPDATE 2022.10.21 FWIW— The issue described below mysteriously corrected itself yesterday after updating PsCC to the latest version, 24.0. In my gut I had the feeling that it was an app issue and not my PC or graphics card or PsCC settings. P.

@Wren5E39 FWIW— I've been using InD for y-e-a-r-s, way before Creative Cloud (CC). Never had an issue with my custom workspace, that is before CC. I, too, have been on CC for y-e-a-r-s. All of a sudden, out of nowhere, whenever I launched InD, the workspace would always be a different size, and place itself in a different location within my desktop's screen. Interestingly, CC saves/remembers other saved preferences (panels, locations, shortcuts, etc.) but not the workspace's dimension and location. I have tried over and over ... creating a new work space .. overwriting the current one with the same name. To date, nothing has worked ... the workspace will open to whatever dimension/location it desires. I have mentioned this in forums and reported it as well—I have not heard anything about this "bug". I have come to the conclusion that InD is CC's red-head stepchild.

@Kevin Stohlmeyer I'm not 100% convinced that the culprit is the graphics card, but I could be 100% dead wrong. I've spent the better part of my morning fussing with un/checks, resets, un/installs, and nothing has worked. Oh well. All this 'looking under the hood' is annoying and exasperating ... so for the time being, I'm gonna be done with this issue. I'll remain on 25.3.1 until it works no more, at which time I will be forced to get a new graphics card, that I can then be up-to-date with CC's latest Ps features that I will probably not even need/use .. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Thanks for your efforts.

@Kevin Stohlmeyer Thanks for your reply. I'm aware of the graphics card specs that you mention (DirectX12 feature level 12), blamed as being the culprit of other bugs in the recent past. It was suggested that upgrading my current g'card would resolve the issue. I opted to "wait and see", and in the meantime, most interestingly, those bug were somehow resolved in a subsequent release; so there was really no need to have upgraded the g.card. Now's a different issue altogether, seeing that PsCC's latest release (post 25.3.1) is entirely useless, and all because of my current g'card's specs ..(again?)?

@Kevin Stohlmeyer Well, excuse me, Mr Mechanic... I reset preferences after upgrading to 25.4, however that did nothing to correct the issue. Today is 2024.2.29. I've had to revert to 25.3.1 because later versions (24.x.x —> 25.x.x) have proven useless, in that I am not able to create a new document or open/import an existing file (JPG, eg.) or even open an existing '.psd' file. All I can do is launch PsCC and look at it. Any attempt at the aformentioned result in the app's crash. What is going on? ... and PLEASE don't ask or suggest to look into my PC's settting or graphics card—all are running perfectly fine. What's NOT running fine is PsCC! Someone shed some light on this issue, please.

Updated to 25.4. After launching PsCC 25.4 I attempted to create a new document, but nope ... the app froze. Closed. Launched again. Froze again when attempting to create a new document. Closed. Launched again. Attempted to open an existing .PSD file. Nope. Froze again. Closed. Launched again. Attempted to open JPG file. Nope. Froze. These are steps I've had no problem with in the previous release up until earlier before installing 25.4. So in order for me to get work done I reverted to previous PsCC release 25.3.1, and all is working perfectly now, as it should. Clearly, release 25.4 is bugged, therefore rendering PsCC 25.4 useless.

@Jessica274900604ibj @schroef Hi! Perhaps a step-by-step might help understanding how to deal with hidden objects/shapes. This is how it was explained to me and I found quite useful. 1. Starting with a hidden object, in this case a red circle "behind" a yellow square, as shown in the layers panel below. 2. Holding Ctrl (Cmd) key down, click on the visible object (square), the pointer will turn hollow with a very small chevron pointing to the left next to it. Continue clicking in areas within the visible object until the edges of the hidden object appear. 3. Let go of the Ctrl(Comnd) key. The bounding box of the hidden object will appear and the pointer will turn solid with a small square next to it. 4. Hover the solid pointer a) over the center of the bounding box or b) the edge of the object, until the small square next to the pointer turns into a reference point locator icon. 5. As long as the solid pointer is shown with the reference point locator icon you can then drag the hidden object from 'behind' and into view as shown below. ¶

@garethirwin1234 Hi. A few years late to this discussion but here I am ... with the exact same issue as yours regarding InDCC's working window size.. in August 11, 2023. It drives me bonkers having to resize the working window every time I launch InDCC. FWIW, I am on desktop PC/Windows (W10, currently) and have been since forever. I've been a Creative Cloud subscriber for quite a long time, and I can say that in the not-too-distant past InDesign's working window's size was never an issue—always opened at the same size I left it on the previous launch. This was never an issue with InD when working with the stand-alone app, before subscribing to CC. It's a nuisance. I am flabbergsted that Adobe cannot/will not release a fix to this annoyance, ...yet PsCC and AiCC et al get all sorts of improvements and tools (which we love & appreciate, BTW), but I feel as tho' they're treating InDCC like the red-headed stepchild. 😞

@spiritdiva1Hi. FWIW, this may or may not help, but here it is anyway: Apparently, some graphics cards that support DirectX 12 are feature level 11_0, like mine for example (see pic below), and therein lies the problem—the feature level has to be 12_0. Fortunately, in spite of receiving the alert on launch (which can be disabled), I have not noticed any compromised funtionality or speed in operation, and until that becomes an issue I've decided not to buy another card that actually supports this darn level 12. Cheers.

@bonniee49347979 Same situation for me. I see no (real) need to rush out to get a new graphics cards. Until PsCC's performance is noticeably compromised, that it adversely affects my user experience, I'll keep keeping on with what I have.

@lance0996Hi. Thanks for the suggestion. I tried it previously but sadly didn't help :(. I have not noticed any degradation in PsCC's performance in spite of the alert, so I shall keep on keeping on; IOW, no need to purchase a new graphics card...yet.

@fibraempresarial2016 Thank you for your reply. I searched online for my graphics card specs and found that, like yours, even tho' it supports DirectX 12 (whatever that means), it is only feature level 11.0. I guess this means I have to upgrade to a new graphics card that supports feature level 12.0 ... thanks to Adobe 😞 . Cheers.

@Kharamangut Attempts to manually add PsCC in NVIDIA GeForce failed. What is interesting is that a friend has the exact same set-up as I do and he does not experience the pop-up alert when launching PsCC. I shall wait and see what happens. Thanks for your input. Cheers.

@CShubert I have tried 'all of the above', and below. The alert pop-up persists. The only solution I have found that stops the pop-up in question is to revert to a previous release.

@Kharamangut My NVIDIA GEFORCE EXPERIENCE (Home) does not show any apps, like yours. The link 'VIEW SUPPORTED GAMES & APPLICATIONS' takes me to the NVIDIA website. There I can find the Adobe apps that are supported by NVIDIA. Photoshop is not listed, neither is InDesign. My graphics card is from 2014. Maybe it is time to get a new one?

Hello all— I am also getting the same warning (see below) upon launching PsCC, after updating to release 24.5.0 today, 2023.5.28. I should point out that this issue is occurring in PsCC as well as PsCC beta. And what does "Feature level 11.0 available, feature level 12.0 required" even mean? Good grief. What now? (cont'd below) My graphics card —NVIDIA GeForce GTX 7770 (NVIDIA)— is up to date. I have found that any combination of settings (see below), checking/unchecking, in Preferences for 1) Performance/Use Graphics Processor and 2) Technology Previews/Older GPU mode (pre 2016) do not stop the alert from showing upon launching PsCC. 1) 2) I have no idea what features and/or tools, if any, are adversely affected by this alleged incompatibility. Do I now have to test/check each and every feature/tool to see what is not working as a result of this alleged incompatibility? 🙄and 😤

@CShubert Hi—just an FYI. Updated PsCC today, 2023.5.5, to latest release 24.4.1 ... Warp Tool still not working properly. I have up-to-date driver of NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 card as of 2023.5.5.

@Konrad Prajsnar Cool. At that suggestion of the "expert" that built my home PC an' stuff, I got suckered into buying a knock-down-drag-out Nvidia graphics card (mostly suitable for gaming, which I don't..), that was in 2014. At that time I had two 12" monitors and, boy, did my PC work at lightning speed! Eventually, one monitor had a melt-down, so I was left with one monitor—that wasn't going to work for me so switched out to a 30" monitor, and everything works like a charm thus far... expect PsCC and its annoying Warp bug. We wait for a fix.
