Part of the problem, if it's like I was experiencing, may be that the box at the top of the page, just left of center, that says something about generative remove, is turned on and it needs to be turned off. That cleared up a lot of it for me. The other thing is that it's a RAM hog. The first few uses of the remove tool it works well and quickly. Then if I keep using it, it just gets slower and slower.

I found one thing that was causing the slowdown. Apparently in a recent update Adobe in their ever growing desire to control what we do and upsell us on AI has added an option at the top of the page to turn GAI on or off while using the remove tool (that feature may have been there before but I don't think so) and have by default turned it on. I turned it off (counterintuitive, I know) and now the remove tool works just like it did before. Quality, spped, everything. As usual, thanks for nothing Adobe.

In the past, if I had a power failure while editing, when I reopened PS the image/s I was working on would come back up as a recovered file. Several times lately this has happened and when I reopen PS the image edit is just gone. Did Adobe remove this feature, has it been moved and renamed? What's going on with this?

It consistently takes at least 5 full seconds every time I use the remove tool for small things like bumps on skin, and longer for larger objects. I thought it was a conflict with a 3D print slicer program I'm running but I've uninstalled that program and the problem persists. At these speeds the tool isn't worth having.

It's offensive to me that what work I decide to do is judged by a company I pay for a product, but it's their program and they can put any caveats in place that they feel necessary. What I find truly unfair is that they refuse to come out and say "if your work/art includes any nudity at all you will not e allowed to use all of the features you pay us for". If Adobe wants to restrict the features we're allowed to use in certain instances then they should discount their price instead of charging us full price and then shorting us if we do something they disapprove of.

For well over a year I've had this issue and I thought at first it was a bug that would be corrected in the next update. A ridiculous amount of updates later (seriously, why so often?) and its still happening. I use keyboard shortcuts for tool selection, most commonly the clone stamp, the brush, and the spot healing or remove tool. when I hit the keyboard shortcut to change from remove tool to clone stamp (for example) it switches to the clone stamp tool for less than a second then back to the remove tool. Sometomes I have to hit the shortcut three or four times to get the selection to stick. Its so consistently bad that I've started hitting the shortcut four times by default to make sure. It's a huge time and attention drain. Anybody got any fixes?

jay.sims my experience has been exactly the same. The only time I ever have the orange "guidelines" warning is when there's a female in the image, often fully clothed. The maddening thing is the inconsistency of the program and Adobe's complete lack of support on the matter. I was editing a set of images, a nude model in a outdoor scene. there was a junky carport thing in the corner of the image, partially covered by a tree limb making it a bit laborious to remove. G Fill worked like a charm on the first three (of ten) images and then it was a community guidelines parade from that point on. I've sked for clarification directly from Adobe, I have tweeted them asking what the issue was, absolutely zero response. If Adobe wants to censor what we work on using their products they should be fully forthcoming with that and spell it out. Also, they should design a program that either works with nudes or doesn't, not the way it is. if they had just come out and said "you can't use this with nudity present (and sometimes females in general)" I could say "fine, theres a rule and I can live with that", but I've wasted so much time tryring to get something to work with no warning that it wouldn't, it has me for the first time in my life considering looing for a different software to use.

I'm doing frequency separation on portraits and in the past once I set the feather amount on my selection it stays at that amount until I change it. What's happening now is that the feather reverts to 1 pixel every time even when I use the tool back to back. When I ckick feather to change it the amount I used last time (20) is already filled in and I just have to click enter. What do I need to do to fix this?

I recently replaced my spinnig drive with a new SSD and I'm reinstalling the apps from CC. every single one will start downloading, get to 15-20% complete and then just stop. A window pops up that says someting to the effect "we're experiencing site issues...". I try again (sometimes it takes three tries) and it goes through without any problem. It would appear that the problem is on the Adobe end. Anyone know what's going on with this?

Occasionally I use a skin softening method with the clone stamp tool at 10-20% flow and tap in the surrounding area to the source point. I've done this for quite some time and the only normal issue is the computer will lag behind if I'm working too quickly. I recently swapped my original hard drive for a sleek, sexy SSD to solve this problem but I seem to have created a worse one. Now if my tapping speed exceeds more than one tap per second (or so) most of the image area blacks out for a little less than a second. If I work quickly the image wil go black and stay that way until I stop. I've tried turning the graphics processor on and off as well as every setting under performance that looks like it might affect this issue. I've reached out to some pretty serious PS guys and no one has a clue whats happening. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've attached a short video to show the problem.
