Thanks Lumigraphics. I didn't realize the file name didn't change to the tiff format until it returned to LR from PS. For some reason I thought it showed up as a tiff when it went to PS. Technology is killing me. Appreciate you help.

BrettN, since the upgrade LrC sends my CR3 raw files to PS as CR3 files instead of tiffs. Preferences are set in LrC to send files to PS at a tiff and that is why I thought I should be able to use the denoise feature in PS. I have been using LrC for years and use it for most everything except for a few of the things PS does better (as you noted). Not sure why my files are now going to PS as raw files but they do. Thanks for the response.

Thanks Lumigraphics. I knew the feature I wanted wasn't in LR but I did think I could send a raw file from LR to PS and run denoise from ACR there. Well, it will eventually come out in LrC so I will just have to wait. Thanks again, Susan

Thank you. Guess I didn't make my self clear. I know that LrC doesn't have all the functions of ACR in PS, that is why I would like to send my raw files directly from LrC to PS to make use of those functions. However, when I do that, the raw file shows up in PS but not ACR and when I send it to ACR the new denoise function is not available. I can us PS's ACR function if I open a photo directly into PS bypassing LrC completely. This is annoying as it means I have to send the photo back to its original folder after using ACR in PS and then import it into LrC. Too many steps. All I want is to be able to send a raw file from LrC to PS and have that raw file open in Camera Raw.

Unsure if this is a bug or if I have just missed something. I have an iMac Pro with M-1 chip Sonoma v 14.6.1. LrC is v. 14.0.1 Camera Raw v. 17. PS 2025 v. 26. Before the upgrade yesterday, I would send a photo to PS from LrC and it would go as a tiff. Now I understand in the new version it goes as a raw file (I shoot Canon so my files are CR3). This is working but , the files to do not go to ACR but instead they go to the main develop section. If I go from there to ACR I am unable to use the new Noise reduction. If I drag and drop the photo into PS from my external HD, the photo goes straight to ACR. Any ideas why this is happening? As far as I can tell, there is no difference between the files except one goes to ACR and one doesn't. Thanks, Susan

iMac 24" M1 chip with Sonoma 14.5. PS 25.9. This problem occured before the last release also.
I use a mouse for everything (never could get the hang of a pen), For some reason, everytime I make a brush stroke with the mouse, the size of the brush increases or decreases. It is driving me crazy as I have to use the bracket keys to resize after every single stroke. I have checked all my mouse settings on the computer and in preferences but can find nothing that changes the behavior. I disabled the graphic processor and rebooted to no avail. The hardness of the brush does not seem to be affected. I have used PS brushes the same way for years and can't for the life of me figure out what has changed or what I may have changed to cause this new behavior.
Any tips, suggestions or clues as to what may be going on are most welcome.

Using iMac 24" M1 chip Sonoma v. 14.5. LrC v. 13.3. Lots of beachballing which seems to start after using the program for a while. Also, the brush intermittently shows strokes when using the mask and at times doesn't show them at all. Sometimes the strokes show up after a long period of lagging which makes it impossible to figure out where you are on an image. On a good note, the eyedropper seems to work when on WB now. Camera Raw limit was set to 10 and have increased it to 20 to see if that makes a difference (saw this suggestion in an older post). Everything was working fine prior to the latest update.

After upping the camera raw limit to 20 and using LRc for a couple of hours the problem has not recurred. Since it is intermittent not sure if this will be a permentant fix or not. I also optimized the program but had already done this since the new upgrade so not sure if that helped or not.
If the problem recurs I will let you know. Can't find anyone else who seems to be having the problem.

This may or may not help but I have found that if I try to upload photos using the apple card reader plugged into a hub instead of directly into the computer, only the first 20 photos will upload. If I plug it into a port on the computer they upload just fine. I am using a iMac with the M1 chip too. As to the inablility of deleting photos, this has also been an ongoing problem for me. I have all my photos on an external HD and to circumvent the problem, I add a new folder then delete it. After that, I can delete photos from LrC. The problem still comes back but not too often. Hope something I've said will help. Susan

I have had and still have the same problem intermittently. Work around for me is to open the external drive I use to store my photos, create a new empty folder and delete it. My files then delete correctly from photoshop. I haven't a clue why this should work but it does for me at least. Still a pain.

Sounds like you want to export the files, not import them. From either the library or develop module, highlight the files you want to move, right click, chose export then chose the catalogue on your external drive and export them.

iMac 24" M1 chip Sonoma 14.0 LrC vs. 12.5 Normally, when deleting a file from LrC, I can choose delete from disc or delete from LrC. Deleting from LrC works fine but delete from disc gives me an error that the item can't be deleted from disc as the volumn doesn't allow it. As a work around, I can open the external SDS that I am using, add an empty folder, delete that folder then everything goes back to normal. I can delete from disc until I shut down and re-open LrC again then I have to go through the same process. This started happening after the latest update.

Did you try my method which worked for me but I have no idea why. Shut down PS and LrC. Open LrC (but not PS), Send a photo to PS via LrC and let PS open that way. The new adjustment features showed up. I hope this helps.

I'm sure you're right but I figured it couldn't hurt. Funny thing is, before the previous update, when I sent anything to PS from LrC, it automatically opened in PS. That stopped for some reason and I had to open PS manually. That little glitch has also righted itself.

OK, it works and here is what I did. First I closed PS. Then I closed LrC (not sure if it was necessary but it works so who am I to complain.). Opened LR, played with a photo, sent it to PS, clicked on the adjustment panel and viola, all is now well. I shut LR down for about 10 minutes. Hope this helps.

It seems the problem only occurs if using masks first. Probably isn't wise to use masks first anyway but it doesn't seem to make a difference with Topaz AI so I forget sometimes. LrC denoise is proving itself to be superior to Topaz in most situations though I still have to use it for sharpening.
