I thought I should include that, after installing Photoshop v26.3.0 on my MacBook Pro 2019 (Sequoia 15.3), Photoshop is operating normally. Mike

Jeff, I must have missed something the first time I tried your solution so went back and tried, again. This time, it worked. The GPU had been temorarily disabled by a little text file. Many thanks, sir! Mike

I updated Photoshop (v26.3.0) and as soon as I opened Filters > Camera Raw Filter, I got the message I opened Photoshop Preferances and saw this: I messed with recommended solutions for a couple of hours. No joy. Any recommendations? Mike

The top menu isn't working after opening a raw filter in Photoshop, making an edit and returning to Photoshop. Steps to reproduce Open an image in Photoshop, make edits as usual Select Filter > Camera Raw Filter Make any edit, i.e., adding contrast, Click OK to go back to the image Click on any item in the top menu and nothing works. The tools on the left side of the screen work fine. I have to force Photoshop to close quit and reopen for menu items to be clickable again. Photoshop is up to date. I've deleted the app a couple of time using CCleaner and reinstalled the program. No joy.

Yesterday, I hacked at Photoshop for over five hours doing most of what you just posted. No joy. Mike

I did uninstall/reinstall, too, and had no luck with fixing the issue. Mike

Thank you, Jeff, for your suggestion for the reset. I just did that and, unfortunately, it didn't work for me. Mike

Jane, you did it! I got the Opions bar back and, now, when I close the Photoshop screen, the "floating" options bar no longer stays on my desktop. All is right with the world! Many thanks for helping an old guy out. Mike

Well, Jane, I tried that and must have done something wrong. The Options bar is gone altogether. It's no longer available in Photoshop. Mike

Thank you Jane-e. Yes, I can quit Photoshop and the toolbar does go away. Until very recently, though, I could simply save and close an image in Photoshop and, even though the Photoshop Icon displayed the black dot, I didn't have the toolbar remaining. Mike

Thank you, Jeffery, for the fast reply. I navigated to my computer's Library to the Preferences and found this: It seems I have quite a few iterations of Adobe Settings. Are all of these needed? Mike

My MacBook Pro is up to date and Photoshop is, too. Photoshop open just fine and function normally but, when I close it, the toolbar remains on my desktop. I can double click the pad and it goes away. It has never done this before and I was wondering how I could correct it. Mike
