How to make a video for Kickstarter.

Hi All,

What,size,video,file,to,download,from,Deposit,Photos,for,Kicks?240?

I want to make a video for Kickstarter. Just downloaded Premiere Pro. Does anyone know what size file I should download from Deposit Photos that will best fit for a Kick campaign? Deposit Photos offers. 240, 480, etc. I don't want to spend a lot of money if I don't need to. I know psd, and ai, but totally a newbie at Premiere. Any help I would appreciate.

Thanks,

Alex

    Kickstarter info says:

    Video specifications

Videos added to a project description must be 250MB or less and one of the following file types: MOV, MP4, or WMV. We take the video file you upload and create a 640 x 360 (16:9 ratio) version to display on your project page.

For video encoding, use WMV format in Windows. On Mac, use H.264. In both cases, the key variable is the “bit rate,” so look for that box. If it’s measured in kilobits per second (kbps), try 1500 to start. If it’s measured in megabits per second (Mbps), try 1.5. If the file is too big: make that number smaller. If the quality seems bad: make it bigger.

The "WMV" on windows does not sound right, but who knows what they want.

I don't know how Deposit Photos is handling their formats. One sample I looked at is available in 4 pixel resolutions, but the original appears to be 1080p (1920x1080 progressive, 16:9 ratio, 24 frames per second). but they offer it as 640X480 (normally 4:3 ratio).

We can't answer those questions here - you need help from Deposit Photos and then Kickstarter. We can help you with Premiere Pro once you know what the specs are.

Thanks Stan! I did contact Deposit Photos and they said they would email me an answer. That was three days ago. I don't think they know. lol

I tried it the easy way. Opened my kickstarter account, popped in the video I bought from Deposit Photos, and it looked great on the screen. So maybe the 240 size will work. If not, I will go by what you have written! Thanks! I really appreciate your time! The whole thing has made me cranky! Hope I didn't come across that way but if I did my sincerest apologies♥

I appreciate the offer to help with Premiere. I will probably have questions there too. lol

Many thanks again and may the good you gave to me, come back to you♥

    Here's a start.

See "Video specifications" on this page:

Creator Questions » Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) — Kickstarter

Kickstarter creates a 640X360 16:9 video. You can scale down, but you do not want to scale up. You must consider pixel size and ratio. You need to do more research on this and plan your workflow before buying images.

I know where the Kickstarter information and their video size is 640 x 480 in pixels. However video is not measured by pixels which is why I asked which video file size to download from Deposit Photos, 240, 480, etc.Seems like someone should know this who works in Premier Pro about video formatting as in how large a 240 video file is and will it fit a 640 x 480 pixel screen without losing resolution.

    Thanks for your time.

    Never heard of Kickstarter.

In video (Premiere) it is all about pixels.

Most likely 480 will fit perfectly but post a link were is says 240 or 480.

    Just guessing here.

    Hi Tinysprinkles,

I am sorry that you are not able to find answers to your question. I am not familiar with Kickstarter (if this is what you are talking about Kickstarter ). Let's see if someone else can share thoughts.

If you have any query specific to Premiere Pro, please elaborate and I will try my best to answer all.

    Thanks
