What are the best uses for the different drawing tools in Illustrator?

When do you use the pen, pencil and brush tools in your artwork? Is the pen tool pressure sensitive? I am scanning my sketches for tracing into Illustrator.....which tool is best for tracing?

What do you find are the strengths and weaknesses of each?

If you can give examples, either by verbal explanation or an illustration, that would really be invaluable to me on my learning path.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Pen tool:

exact tracing

Curvature tool:

exact as well, but more for "natural" curves and works well without sketches or templates

Pencil:

when I don't need or don't want a brush applied

Brush tool:

when I need pressure input

Blob brush tool:

I use it primarily for sketches or when I want to have a specific positive/negative look that I achieve with erasing lines out of other lines

The brush and blob brush tool are the only drawing tools that work with pressure input
