Question

New update still doesn't work with OS BigSur

It's a month now since Photoshop 2021 blocked when starting and couldn’t use it AT ALL.

I'm using macOS BigSur 11.4 and none of Apple and Adobe's new releases can Help.

I already spend hours on the phone with Apple Support, nothing they can do.

It's very hard to get someone from Adobe for support.

Can anyone help?

All the best

Pierre

Please ensure your computer meets or exceeds the minimum system requirements to run Creative Cloud + OS + all other apps you use. Check each one.

Pay particular attention to Photoshop's new requirements. See links below.

Photoshop runs fine under Big Sur here.

Try resetting your prefernces.  Option+Command+Shift (Mac OS) immediately after launching Photoshop.

If that doesn't work, try uninstalling then reinstalling Photoshop from Creative Cloud.

Try logging into another account (you may need to make one), still crashing?

Try starting up in Safe mode (hold down Shift Key when booting), still crashing?

You might want to try running a free utility like Onyx: still crashing?

Dear Sir,

I have tried all the functions you proposed and there is nothing I can do.

I uninstalled Creative Cloud and reinstalled everything very well, I verified all the permissions, reinstalled MacOs 11.4 and it's still the same problem as before.

I asked a computer engineer to have a look and he said there is nothing he can do.

We have a membership fee every month for Adobe and I cannot use it and it very hard/impossible to talk to Adobe support about it.

At least with Apple, I can schedule a phone call with the support team and they assist me.

What can you suggest me to do?

Best Regards

Pierre

Where can i get real support from Adobe?

I'm using Photoshop on two computers running Big Sur. Can you post screen shots of any errors and describe PRECISELY what the problem is? Also, what computer do you have and how much RAM is installed?

Bonjour,

Thank you for your help,

Unfortunately, there is no message error, just freeze and I have to do
Command/Option/esc and force to quit.

I'm using a new 2020 Macbook Pro with 16Go RAM.

I was hoping the new PS release 22.4.2 would help but still not.

Best Regards

Which version of Photoshop do you have installed (the current version is 22.4.2)?

How much RAM and spare hard disk capacity do you have?

Have you tried resetting the Photoshop preferences?

Assuming you have the correct system specs, uninstall the application from the drop-down menu in the Creative Cloud app and reinstall it again.

If that doesn't resolve the issue use the Adobe Cleaner Tool to uninstall Photoshop and reinstall Photoshop as a clean install.

Dear Derek,

Yes, I have just updated PS 22.4.2.

I have a new MacBook from 2020 with 16go RAM and 1T HD with 500go available.

I will try resting again.

Thank you very much for your help and concern.
