There were no source files that could be opened by Photoshop Automate Batch error

I am having a difficulty with the Automate batch function in Photoshop. I don't want to use image processor because I need to upsize images with the new Preserve details 2.0.

I create an action: 1 from an open image resize 200% saves as and close.

Before I went to the automate batch option I could select the source folder and the destination and it would work perfectly.

No more now.

I always get this message "There were no source files that could be opened by Photoshop". it is quite an absurd message as I point the source to the folder that contains the images.

I know that I have not recorded the open image in the action but this was never necessary as once you selected the folder in the automate batch as a source it would open those files inside and run the action.

Has this changed now? I have tried "supress file options dialogs" but same result. Is it now compulsory to also save the open file step so that the automate batch runs correctly the action?. I really think this was not the case in the past but also not 100% sure.

Ok . I found out what the problem is. If there is another folder inside the source folder you choose, even if it is empty and the images are in the main folder you point to an not in another subfolder it will give you this error. You need to check "include all subfolders" even if those images are not in a subfolder. If there is any folder inside the source check this option or you will get that error. I hope it helps other people that face this problem.
