Will Font Folio 12 released? New features? More Fonts? Can't wait!

I'm not a designer. I dabble, but I have no formal training. My background is User Experience and User Interface.A designer has created templates to be used for PDFs. The font is not only light, but the designer has chosen to use a color value that is significantly towards the center of the black/white gradient.As a result, when I try to read the PDFs that are produced, I have difficulty. I've asked around to other users in my company and they have also complained about the light, gray font. Unfortunately, the designer is backed up by the brand manager, who claims that the font and color value represents our brand.If our brand is all about being difficult to use, I would agree, but I need to make the argument that having a document users can read is more important than reflecting a brand.I'm hoping someone can point me in the direction of some articles or discussions of this issue.

Need to get a PC version of Akkurat normal font. Our designer only has the Mac version and I can't get it converted. I can only find it on www.lineto.com from Switerzerland. Anybody know where else I can get it? ThanksMark

After installing I noticed that ROCKWELL font is missing. There may be others but I used this one regularly so it is really missed. I have checked the system font folder and the old font storage folder on my windows machine and its not showing up. ADOBE, Uni, Type, Standard, Schoenecker, Mono, Kroeger, Hooge, Copy, Ceriph, REALLY??? Come on you can do better than this. All useless fonts I.M.O. Any ideas on how to get Rockwell back?

Thanks, man.To resolve the problem, do the following:Open the registry editor (regedit)Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management  Add a new REG_​DWORD entry called SessionImageSize with a value (decimal) of 20RebootThis process solved my problem, thought it would be nice to put this where other may find it quickly.

I just designed a large postcard to announce an art exhibition and used Arno Pro throughout, mostly small caps. Why are the small cap numerals so much 'higher' than the letters? They just looked too large. Tried reducing the font size of the numerals, but this wasn't  the best approach. Any advice would be great, thanks!

I'm creating a t-shirt and I want to use the typeface Unicode 6.0 UTF-8, or a substitute. I've searched a lot, and it looks like that font is used in programs like Dreamweaver, TextWrangler, etc., but I can't find where to download the actual font, to use in a program like Illustrator or inDesign.This is an example, using OCR-A font, but I really want the Unicode.

I have an extensive collection of fonts (60,0000+). Several hundred of them will crash my system when I open one of them in Finder (double-click the font icon). I picked one at random for some serious examination.I looked at my sample with many font tools. My latest tool was FontDoctor (v5 and v7). FontDoctor reported "no problems found" with my font. Yet the crash persists.Please suggest a tool that can do a thorough job of investigating and repairing my corrupt fonts.Gary(Mac OS 9 & X)

I am just wondering if is it there some way how can I do that?Make from a vectors based document- There I made whole alphabet letters by pen tool. And my goal is that document render to FONT Files. I have to find some text  and signage type to go with an identity that uses Doyald Young's Finesse Light. It actually looks OK with the symbol that another designer sold to the client. (I have been given far worse.) But, what to use with this? Any ideas? I am stumped… The signature portion of the identity uses all caps, which helps and makes it look more classical. A bit like Trajan, before it was overused. Finesse Light is more similar to the heavier Berthold Christiana.http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/doyald-young/young-finesse/light/

Why does my photoshop say everytime I download a font. It opens Photoshop CS5 then it says: Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document." Please help me. I really need that font.

Hi again,I wanted to post this again to see if anyone can help me out with this.I am trying to print film for a screen printing job that I am doing and so I need all of the white you see in the image below knocked out to the background color (i.e. color of the shirt).The way I have this set up is a layer of text with a black stroke in the back and a layer of text with no fill and a white stroke on top.I have tried over and over again as per my own methods and suggestions from others:http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1031339I haven't been able to get this done! It's killing me here...Please take a look at the image and see if you can help me out!If there is another way I can set it up other than the text layerd on top of each other or ANYTHING else you can suggest to help me out it is MUCH appreciated.

A number of years ago, I purchased the original version of CS, which included the semibold and semibold italic versions of Adobe Garamond Pro.  I eventually lost the contents of the computer on which it was installed -- while I was able to recover my data files, all program files (including font files) were lost.  Recently, I purchased a new computer and bought CS6.  I see that those particular fonts are  no longer included.  Since I used them in some of my old documents, that is a bit of a problem.  In light of the fact that I owned a legal copy of the fonts (by virtue of having purchased CS), is there any way to get them other than buying them again?  Thanks.Robert Rothman

Hi,I have spoken to Hardik, Alex and a few more Adobe representatives about this issue and I have had a terrible responses. They disconnected my call while I was on hold. They kept shying away from their responsibility to give me a solution than just telling me that they do not support handheld devices when it is not even an issue with handheld devices.I wish to use Myriad Pro family of fonts for our corporate slides and other related material, but when I use this font on any MS Office program like Powerpoint or Word, save that document as PDF and try to view that PDF file on iPad or iPhone, the font is all distorted and shaded and completely unreadable.The same font works when a document is saved as a PDF via Illustrator or any other Adobe program which proves it is not an issue with iPad or the iPhone but with either Microsoft Office or Adobe's product (Myriad Pro). I will be contacting Microsoft for the same but there is a high possibility that they will blame Adobe for this problem

I am trying to review (clean up) all our fonts to prepare a FontExplorer X server solution – ment for  Mac OSX 10.6 and CS5 at the moment.However I am wondering a couple of things, perhaps someone in here can help explaining.PostScript fonts sometimes shows up as a mess in FontExplorer (screendump).While fx ITC Korinna is nicely in one Suitcase, Kallos ITC is spread in several whithout correspondance in naming.I tried to move all print fonts into one Suitcase and them import, but nothing changed.Is this due to the way they are licensed (perhaps not all at one time)? I got a new computer (Windows XP) and installed Indesign CS2 onto it and then transfered my old Indesign documents to my new computer, but am having trouble with missing fonts when opening my documents. I uninstalled Indesign and reinstalled it thinking this would help as I installed it on another computer and had no trouble with these fonts. Some of the trouble fonts are Edwardian Script, Perpetua, etc. Any suggestions?

I'm posting a message here in the hope that someone in a position to do something about my problem might read it. Nearly 2 weeks ago we purchased Myriad Arabic Semibold. When I download it I get Myriad Arabic Bold. I started a chat session with an Adobe rep and they said I need to call customer service, which I did, and they then opened a support case 0208733923. The response in that was that the font we have is semibold but it's called bold, and they closed the case. I think the reason they think that is that the Adobe store for Myriad Arabic Semibold does indeed say Postscript File Name: MyriadArabic-Bold MAC Menu Name: Myriad Arabic Bold Windows/PC Menu Name: Myriad Arabic Bold + bold style However for Myriad Arabic Bold it saysPostscript File Name:MyriadArabic-SemiboldMAC Menu Name:Myriad Arabic SemiboldWindows/PC Menu Name:Myriad Arabic Semibold  So it seems your system has got Semibold and Bold confused. Client told me what font she wants to use, but I dont need that font in the future.I told her to buy the font because she plans to use it for more projects.Can you explain in general cases when should designer buy a font, and in which a client.I use CS5 i have more then enough fonts for my design.Thank you for your help,Ivana

I'm a home user, not in any way professionally involved in typography (though as it happens, I've long been interested in typography and the arts of the book). Occasionally I find myself preparing posters for various charitable events, and find it useful to make use of a shaded caps font.  My first choice for this was Gill Sans Shadow - appropriate as I live in the city where Gill's hand-painted precursor to Gill Sans first saw the light of day in the '30s - but some time ago I came across a nice Macromedia Fontographer shaded font, ApexShadowsSCapsSSK, on a free fonts site and downloaded that.  Unfortunately the file proved to be corrupted and several characters are not rendered properly; this is a shame, as the font has a very good three-dimensional feel to it.As Macromedia is now part of the Adobe empire, I tried to find our from Adobe how I could obtain a perfect copy of the font, but this has been less than straightforward, not to put too fine a point on it!Does anyone h

I'm a programer not a designer, but I have to create a logo for some web site work I volunteered for. How do I convert a solid font into a vector graphic with a solid outline and a transparent or colored, etc., interior?  I want the background to be able to show through or to have the ability to apply an effect like a metalic surface.  Since it is going on a web site as part of a logo I want to be able to easily change its size and colors without effecting the overall shape.I have Web Premium CS5 to work with.Thanks in advance,Dan
