Acrobat 2020 Pro or Standard is a perpetual license. The 7-day free trial you refer to above might be for the Acrobat pro-DC subscription-based service.

We have an institution where you might have downloaded the Acrobat Pro DC trial, which is why you haven't been able to activate the Acrobat Std. 2020

Try this:

Run this cleaner tool to remove the existing installer and application's files traces:

Then download the Acrobat Std 2020 setup from here: https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/acrobat-2020-downloads.html.
